I am active and on the go. I moved up to the Northwest Territories to ride out the economic downturn and ended up falling in love with this place. Even so, not sure how long I'll stay... as long as it makes sense. After almost 4 years here, its not bad, but I do make a point of getting out for a couple of weeks every year. That seems to be the formula that works.
I cherish time with friends around my kitchen table. I am close to my family and enjoy visiting with them as well. Usually means I head off to Ontario or Pennsylvania to spend time with them. But I also travel to other destinations, visit places I have lived, including Slovenia, the Netherlands, and especially Brazil.
I enjoy reading. Sometimes humour, sometimes historical fiction and sometimes non-fiction. It's the language and the writing that keeps me in a book. I am involved in the arts, performing and visual arts and enjoy galleries and art shows, exhibits and plays, and live music. I watch a lot of movies but avoid the computer as much as I can when I am not working.
Life can be tough, so we have to remember to enjoy it daily. I try to, some days more successfullyl than others. Simple pleasures help: nothing is as invigorating as a brisk hike through interesting terrain.
I am an avid Capoiera. I teach Capoeira up here in the North and would teach and train anywhere I go.
I am trying to raise a good citizen and a kind, considerate man in my son. He's a great kid. It's my job, as I see it, to give him the skills to grow into a good man.
I haven't had a partner in such a long time, that I am not sure what it is I need. It feels like I need someone considerate and calm. I like being active and so would really enjoy having someone who enjoys that too. I want my partner to like what he does for a living, but doesn't let it take over all aspects of his life.
Life work balance kind of guy.
And, let's face it, even if we have the same interests, it takes time to build a good thing and that usually starts with a spark. We'll see.
