Meet men and women from Canada. So, here I am, searching for my heart's desire....
A few things to know about me are that I grew up on a farm and I am a pretty simple girl; I don't want bells and whistles, I would prefer honesty, authenticity and someone who loves me for everything I am. I love being active and being outdoors (camping, hiking, swimming, beaches, yoga, running). I love being around kids and believe we have so much to learn from them (and each other) if we listen. I'm a huge reader and love books and love talking about them. I guess I could say that I'm also a pretty sensitive person, but I'm always laughing at myself at the same time. I can be quite shy too. I'm also an artist, although my practice is lacking now that I'm teaching full time.
I don't really engage in the party scene, and I prefer to spend time with my closest friends and my family. Although, that doesn't mean that I don't enjoy going out. I love food, I love cooking for someone, going out to eat, going to galleries and museums, festivals etc.
I really pride myself on being independent and am very grateful that I was taught by the women in my family to stand on my own two feet and be able to support myself. I've worked really hard to be where I am today and I'm very happy with who I am and what I've accomplished. Now I want to have a life with someone that I can share everything with.
I would love to find someone to travel with, someone to have some crazy adventures with, someone who can make me feel like a million bucks just by looking at me. . Hmmm....Describe me? A gypsy girl I guess. Goofy or serious, depending on my mood. Outgoing or shy, depending on the situation and how well I know you. Optimistic, enthusiastic, earnest, kind, honest, spontaneous. A scientist with an arts degree, I've studied a bit of everything and then some, so we could probably have a decent discussion about whatever your interests are.
Things I love: books, water, rocks, being outdoors, traveling to new places and old haunts, doing and learning new things. Being a good person and always striving be and do more. Exploring new ideas and ways of thinking, taking things apart, finding out what makes them work & why. Back country camping, swimming in the lake, star gazing under a wide open sky - pretty much anything that lets me spend as much time outside as possible.

Moved from the Okanagan to Calgary about a year ago, still getting the hang of things - spend a lot of time in Fort McMurray these days as well. Don't always have a lot of spare time - hopefully this will change come the fall - but when I do have time off, it'd be nice to go out and do something fun. My career is very important to me, I'm fortunate enough to have a job I love - have a hard time understanding how a person can spend their life going to work every day to do something they hate.
