I have am beginning to become skeptical if there is any serious intent from many. When I see the first dates being a dinner or something similar I wonder if that is all the contact is worth. I do not wish to compromise and settle for less than the person that I want to find. In the past when younger, I, as most tend to over look many things when seeking someone to share a life with. I know I have made mistake when I was first married but it was youth that dictates those feelings of love and many signs that the love is not true and long lasting are ignored thinking that all will correct itself in the future. Without this "chemistry or magic" relationships are doomed to a short life. I feel many are infatuated with each other and do not see all until later and then the relation we thought was true, we find were an illusion.
Now in maturity I will not settle for a love that is only on the surface and nothing more. To me love must consist of a deeper feeling for each other and a sharing of everything in the heart the soul and the mind. To me love is felt and lived and based on respect for each other and a true partnership in life and the future.
I want someone to walk beside me equally not behind or in front but beside where I feel they belong.
As an optimist I do not give up in trying to find our true other half no matter where they may be. And we will meet only if I do not give up in this search. I do not date many women and in realty there are very few in my past as I found most to be too shallow and self centred in themselves, thinking only of their materialistic lives.Happiness is found, to me, in people, who and what they are and this is the woman I am looking for.
