Date a guy from Alberta, Canada. Quick and dirty version of me is that i'm recently graduated Mental Health Specialist and just absolutely love my job. I work with the mentally ill homeless population and each day i feel like i learn more from my patients/clients than i do anywhere else and that's just inspiring.
Outside of work, i've got too many hobbies for my own good (no joke). I play the piano, guitar and hopefully one day will self teach the violin. Love to go out with friends or even just to make new ones. I play basketball, volleyball and dodgeball competitively interchangeably each season. Haha yes, i play dodgeball... most people don't believe me but it's a very intense sport, if you're interested i can show you lol. Currently, my favorite passtime, if the weather permits, is mastering longboard and slacklining. Evidently, being outdoors is something i really enjoy. Don't get me wrong, i love staying in and watching tv shows, movies especially and playing video games. I'm a huge movie fanatic and current tv favorites include, How i Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, New Girl, Modern Family, Raising Hope, Fairy Tale, and Naruto. I could go on about all the different things i do but it would fill this page so just ask and i've probably already done it, currently doing it or want to master it haha.
I find dating here a little bit difficult because it seems like old fashioned romance is lost in this city. I'm hoping to one day find someone who is independent, confident, ambitious, wears their hearts on their sleeves, and compassionate. I know that traditionally men are supposed to make the first move but put me in front of a girl that has the courage to ask a man for his number or even start a conversation and watch my heart melt haha. Originally from the BC interior, I'm a small town guy who drives a pickup truck, wears plenty of plaid, and has more fun having a beer by a quiet fire than a cocktail in a noisy club. That being said, I love Calgary and what it has to offer - I consider myself a naturalized Calgarian and will be here for a long time. I'm in the final year of a master's program in history at the university and work three to four days a week as a bartender. I'll admit up front that I'm a bit of a nerd - I like to learn (about all kinds of things) and keep my brain fresh. I live as actively as I can and try to keep as busy as possible. I play softball twice a week (addmitedly not the most active sport) and exercise at the gym as many as six or seven. Good conversation is a key for me (I like to think that the bartending gig has made me pretty good at it). I've grown out of my night club days and I'm looking to settle down in Calgary. That doesn't mean I don't like to enjoy myself. I like watching sports (the Blue Jays almost daily), eating out and having coffee, seeing movies on the big screen, and shooting pool. I haven't travelled much and would love to meet someone to travel with. I've been down the West Coast of the US and to everywhere in Canada except Ontario and the North (Quebec and Nova Scotia are my favourite Canadian destinations and I really would like to see the Arctic Ocean).
