I am a 50 year old separated typical Candian fellow.I sure dont feel like I'm 50, more like 30 but with 20 extra years of wisdom?? I have lived in the Bonnyville area for 20 years.I am a truck driver in the oilpatch but I don’t work oilpatch hours. I work early in the a.m. usually until 3 p.m.Monday to Friday so I am home early most days. I love my job and have been doing it for some time now. I should have been a truck driver years ago as it beats the daylights out of the corporate world I was in. In short, I no longer bring my work home with me which is kind of a good thing because a tractor trailer is a tad big to park in the livingroom.
I have 3 amazing children. 2 boys 14 and 16 who live with their mom and a daughter who is in university
taking her B.S.C.
I am looking for someone who wants to come home and talk about their day. I am a firm believer in communication
and do not like leaving unresolved issues on the table. I have been to a bar about 10 times in the past 20 years and am not the kind of guy who goes to the bar with the guys after work or on weekends. I am however not against going out for the evening for drinks or to parties etc.I also enjoy going out for supper and a movie. I know how to tie a tie and acually prefer to iron my own shirts as I got pretty good at it as a bachelor.

First of all, this is a little uncomfortable for me, as I am not used to talking about myself or "grande standing". I rather let my actions speak for me (clean the mess up after), and let people come to their own conclusions.
I have a close cicle of friends that are very open and accepting; they are very important to me.
I tend to be straight foreward and to the point. I am fair. I'll give my honest opinion if you ask for it, and even sometimes when you don't (not always a good move on my part). Like most men, I have the uncanny ability to put my foot in my mouth (sometimes both) at the wrong times. I am not against appologizing and hope the lady I come to meet has a forgiving demenour to see past these "brain farts". Humour is important, and I use it frequently (hopefully we have the same witt), but I do not use it to hide behind.
I have many interests, but am not a fanatic about any. Golf, curling, camping, fishing and working outdoors are primary, but not exclusive passtimes. I also live on an acreage, that keeps me out of trouble the rest of the time.
A good meal should not be eaten alone, it always tastes better when it is shared with somebody. I am a good cook (mostly on weekends), but have not put my talents to good use lately as i have nobody to share with. I am also all for sharing or giving over the kitchen.
I am looking for someone who is "down to earth", can carry a stimulating conversation, or joke with the best of them. This person shall be optomistic, have an open mind and view life and people from a positive perspective. She will be assertive and independent, capable of taking care of herself, yet vunerable enough, as I am, that still needs a partner to lean on or vent to when need be.
I believe common interests are very important, but being joined at the hip at all times is overkill.
