Alright, well I just finished university with a Bachelor of Management degree, and am now currently working two jobs because now it's the fun part where I get to pay for it all. I am a new resident to Calgary, beginning my adventure as a Civil Engineer. One thing I have been given throughout my schooling is the sense of determination among all things.

I absolutely love music and have made it a major interest of mine. I play the guitar and love to explore all avenues even working towards playing more open mics around the city. i was no longer allowed to fly airplanes due to low blood pressure, but i have gone on to find new opportunities and am currently an apprentice plumber.

I used to be a sit at home kind of person until i left my old job, and now i realise i didnt do anything because i was not happy with what i was doing. Now with this new job sitting at home is not good enough( nothing wrong with some days). For starters, i work in construction so trying to find time to go out and meet people is nearly impossible. . Well, I'm originally from the states and moved here a while ago with my company. I'm trying to meet people outside of work so I figured I'd give this a shot.
So I'll give a little background information about me. I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa, and went to Iowa State University to study Construction Engineering. I am now working for a construction company that deals heavily in the energy sector. I'm pretty laid back and don't get worked up over much. I enjoy traveling and seeing new places and am really glad I got assigned to Edmonton so I can see some of the sites and try living in a foreign country.
So far I really like Canada. I haven't been out much in Edmonton but I'm currently looking at apartments downtown or along Whyte Avenue so I can see more of the city, but any suggestions would be appreciated.
Also, I have noticed that some people up here don't like people from the US for various reasons. I want to point out that the US has many different types of people so please don't judge me based on what you may have seen on TV or the internet.
