Meet men and women from Alberta, Canada. I have a lot of hobbies but music is my passion. Music has been my life. It's not just entertainment to me. Its a lifestyle. I have played with and toured with, some of the greatest music that canada has to offer... more so punk rock and hardcore then anything. I can be found listing to all sorts of different music. From 50's rock and roll to bluegrass thats older then my parents. I got a pretty eclectic taste in music but if I had to pick a genre it would be punk rock. If I can feel the soul and emotion that a singer puts into his music I will probably enjoy it. I play bass guitar, acoustic guitar, drums and banjo. My next instrument to learn is Irish Mandolin.... only thing I'm not into is "dance music" and all its **stardized forms.
I don't really watch much T.V. I like to watch the news and a few shows like sons of anarchy, breaking bad, true blood but I'm not a really dedicated watcher. And I cant deny my love of the stupid "adult" cartoons on t.v. (family guy, Simpsons, American dad, ect)
I prefer to read. I love my books and I have to state that I am a proud Geek. I still love comic books. Not like. LOVE them. I think its the best form of story telling and some of the greatest stories I have ever read have come in the form of a comic or graphic novel. My bedroom looks like the set of big bang theory. I guess its just cause I'm still a big kid at heart. Alen Moore is my all time favorite writer and Chuck Palahniuk is a close second. I also enjoy Brett Easton Ellis, Mark Millar, Frank Miller, Brian Michael Bendis, Stan "the man" Lee, Daniel Way, Neil Gaiman, and Robert Kirkman (Walking Dead is my favorite on going series). And as you can probably from my profile tell I love to write.
As far as sports go, I don't watch them and don't care about them. Which is rare in males. I guess I just find the front page of the news paper more interesting. It was just something I never put importance on. I do however like to watch MMA. But what guy does not like watching 2 guys kick the sh*tout of each other?
Just cause I am not really into sports and read a lot does not mean I hate the outdoors. I love my quads and sea-doo! I have never felt more free then when I am riding them. On the bright side you dont have to pretend to like hockey to date me.
I guess I should state that I am independent but that should go with out saying. I drive an brand new car, and just bought a brand new condo as well. Its still being built and trust me I am counting down the days!! I am the kind of man who works hard and is dedicated to his work. I do have a career that I enjoy too. I work for the city of edmonton plowing and sanding roads in the winter (which is THE most important job in this city come winter time) and fixing bridges in the summer. I love doing it (even if the hours can be a bit long and most citizens hate us) and I know how lucky I am to have a career that I dont hate waking up and going too.
As far as my taste in movies goes. I love horror films but I have been known to sit thru bad chick flicks if the need be. I just enjoy real good story telling and if the film has a message behind it even better. That is not to say I dont enjoy the big budget action flicks but I would prefer to watch a drama or something with a bit of substance to it.
I do enjoy going out to bars however I do find it hard to take a girl who smells like a brewerie and is struggling to form a proper sentence seriously. I don't really drink I'm usually the DD. I dont smoke cigarets I do however smoke pot. Its my one vice in life. This does not mean I have to hit the bong every 5 mins. I'm not Dr. Dre, I understand time and place. I do have a pretty active social life and my friends mean a lot to me. They come from all walks of life. I'm kind of a chameleon when it comes to social groups.
