I really enjoy going running or rollerblading and want to get into other activities such as hiking. Refereeing hockey is a big passion of mine and who wouldn't want to get paid to exercise??
Ultimately I want to be happy in life and one way I accomplish that is through helping others. I had taken a "little" on from big brothers big sisters before I moved and really enjoyed hearing how much of a positive influence I made on him. Family and friends are huge to me and while taking a child under my wing every week was a huge commitment, it was well worth it for both of us. My younger sister means the world to me and I practice what I preach; if a guy doesn't treat her like a gentleman, he's not worth her time!
To touch on the "divorced" aspect; while I was once married, that chapter of my life has been closed and I have moved forward in life. Honesty is always the best policy and that's why I set that as my status. I choose to be better, not bitter and am loving every day!
Hobbies include snowmobiling, building computers (so maybe a tiny bit of a nerd), gaming (not insane; a solid hour or two a week is plenty if I have time), enjoying my collection of HD movies and reffing hockey.
Interesting facts:
* I have a tattoo but want more (oh so addictive)
* I donated blood or platelets 35 times so far and my goal is to reach 200 donations (you can donate platelets every 2 weeks and it takes 2 hours to donate, ask if interested)
* Built a garage last summer, often called a jack of all trades
* Will take on most projects unless I feel it's overly complicated
* If I have pizza, I always eat it with a knife and fork
* I've never played football
* Although I lived a sheltered life in the food aspect, I am trying new things all the time (who knew Wok Box would taste so good? lol)
* I've organized and run security for a computer event in Edmonton for the past 4 years
* There are three screws in my right foot but that doesn't slow me down!
* I am a math major with a visual memory
* Absolutely love Disney and hope to go back to Disney World in the future, I am truly a kid at heart

Instead, I'm laid back, happy-go-lucky introvert that would rather spend time with a few GOOD friends, rather than be just another face in a crowd. I haven't done much travelling (for a variety of reasons), but I would love to explore more. My two goals in life are pretty straightforward and also a constant activity: to be happy and to keep learning. I don't mind my job right now, but I would rather work to live, than live to work.
I think honesty and friendship are the bedrock of any good relationship. The honesty part is a no-brainer, but for the friendship part I can cook up a long, philisophical rationale for it; which essentially boils down to friendship is enjoying each other just for the sake of their company, not because you just want something from them.
Hmm... I look sharp in a suit, but feel more comfortable in my carheartts and work vest. There are times to be a proper gentleman, and times to be vulgar. Although I can't shake my damned consience, or stop from being polite and minding my P's and Q's.
I'm looking for an equal, not a dependant. Someone who is capable of doing their own thing, having thier own space. I'm neither clingy, nor insecure, and I'd like to find someone else like that as well. We're all adults.
