Well its really hard to sell yourself but here goes.I'm born and raised in Calgary but I moved out of the city a few years ago to several small towns but it seems like Cochrane might be the place to call home.I like small town living but still like to come in to the city and enjoy what the city has to offer . I was raised in a very religious family as my mom is a preacher but I don't go as I find the most peace out in the hills and closest to what ever created what surrounds us here on earth. I'm the shy and quite type til I get to know someone but warm up quickly.I'm loyal ,honest , genuine , fun loving and have a slightly twisted sense of humor but in a good way ( I think haha ).I'm at a point in my life where I know what I want and the direction that I would like to go for the first time in several years. I'm a down to earth person who lives for the moment and holds people that are near and dear close to my heart especially family and friends. I love to cook weather it be for just me or for guests to.I love anything and everything to do with the mountains. For fun I have an extreme passion for fly fishing / fly tying but also like to float the bow(not always for fishing),camping,hiking,snowmobile's,sitting around a fire with good company, just going for a drive to some unknown destination to sit by a river or a lake for a picnic.My new little ( well she isn't so little now ) bundle of trouble puppy mean the world to me.I'm looking for someone that is down to earth,easy going, loves the outdoors and just has a love for life and what it has to offer as much as myself and has similar values in life.

Date someone special from Alberta, Canada. Who am I and who am I looking for? Two seemingly simple questions to which I possess no definitive answer.
I am a self-sufficient man, predominantly happy with where my life is at and where it has gotten me thus far. I have a few small regrets, but nothing that weighs me down. I enjoy cooking, long walks and relaxing. Whilst I dislike liver, cleaning and being around bad drivers (I appreciate that the last point is all about perspective). I know what I do well, and what I am not so good at. I like dogs, hamsters and gerbils and I can tolerate cats, I have yet to spend enough time around genuine reptiles to form an opinion on them. I play word games, enjoy a friendly game of chess and am as happy with a glass of wine as with a pint of beer. I play golf at an ever-improving level and look forward to the day when I obtain a high enough level to earn a handicap, before then I look forward to completing eighteen holes in double figures, I try to follow the European sports (football and rugby) and am getting a better understanding of ice hockey and I think that I have a reasonable sense of humour.
I am looking for someone is also self-sufficient, the ability to cook would be greatly appreciated, almost as much as the ability to deliver a great back massage an interest in travelling would also be good. I'm looking to find someone fun, down to earth, stylish, and with a killer smile. I do joke a lot but when I'm not acting like a clown, I can really be deep and honest guy. I do have a lot of pride in myself so I put a lot of effort in maintaining my health, hygiene, and appearance.

Music is therapy. I dont know how I'd live without it. I'm imaginative, a bigtime daydreamer with always something on my mind. I'd much rather live with regret for taking a risk, then regretting that I never even tried. But I do try not to live with any regret at all.
I'm originally from calgary and been in edmonton for 11 years now. I'm always down in Calgary to visit my parents (best people ever) and my good friends. I would travel the globe to find the right person. I'm old fashion and I believe that theres something special about everyone. When reading these profiles I tend to think that following the advice they give on what to write ends up removing any clues as to what makes a person unique. After all, how many people don't like to have fun, hate laughing, hate to be active, etc, etc. You all know what I mean. Nine out of every ten profiles seem to be carbon copies of each other, so I guess the question becomes how to stand out. I guess that means I have to ask "What makes me unique?". Here's what I've come up with so far . . .
I'm intelligent and educated. Switching majors twice has netted me a wide foundation of knowledge, and I tend to know at least a tiny bit about almost everything. This makes me oddly good at strange trivia at the expense of not mastering any one discipline. On the plus side this allows me to be a stimulating conversationalist, both willing and able to talk about whatever you'd like.
Art is a huge part of my life. I've recently started writing again, both poetry and prose, and I have a deep appreciation for both the visual and performing arts. I may, however, be the only person alive able to create a three part disharmony when singing by themselves, so I try hard never to sing in public in case I frighten small children. For those of you who think I'm joking, you're right, but not by as much as you'd think.
I've patted a cheetah, seen an octopus at 60 feet underwater, been 10 feet from a wild caribou, been canoeing with whales, touched the mermaid of Mermaid Cove, and been shadowed by a seal. I found the fountain of youth but didn't drink because I wasn't thirsty . . . . okay, the last one is a lie. The others are all true, and most are good stories. I've tried a lot of different things from caving to windsurfing and the one thing I've gained from all of it is perspective. That perspective has allowed me to figure out who I am and, more importantly, allowed me to be comfortable and confident in who I am. I know who I was, who I am, and who I want to be. I know what I want out of life . . .
As to what I'm looking for . . . well, that's a little more challenging. I'm looking for someone who challenges me intellectually, emotionally and spiritually. Someone who is confident enough in who they are to accept being challenged in turn. You should be happy with who are, but humble enough to realize you aren't perfect, even if you're perfect for me. You should be honest, both with yourself and with the world. You shouldn't be looking for someone to complete you, but rather you want someone who compliments you, someone who, when you're with them, you both become more than the sum of the parts. Last, but not least, be passionate. Passion is the fire that turns the world from black and white to color, so I want the person I'm with to carry that torch.

. I travel all over the world for work so obviously i like to travel. I've been to some places where people wouldnt go on vacation...haha...so it always makes for some good stories. When im back home in Edmonton i like to relax at home with my dogs. When I'm not doing that i enjoy working out, playing hockey, golfing, snowboarding...pretty much enjoy all sports. I am self-sufficient, independent, I have a great sense of humor, & family & friends are very important to me.
