Here is attempt number 3: I’m originally from Newfoundland and like most Newfies, I do miss �the rock.’ There’s something about the people, the culture and, of course, the ocean that will always be a part of me. But since Newfoundlanders in Edmonton are a dime a dozen, I can always find a few to hang out with. My education has taken me all over North America, including Vancouver, Dallas and Los Angeles. A couple of years ago, my career brought me to Edmonton; I work for an excellent company developing life-saving medications.
Edmonton’s long cold winters certainly need getting used to. My “winter therapy” includes working out at the gym and playing hockey and volleyball. .(My apologies to all you Oilers fans, but I have been a Habs fan all my life, and I’m not about to change now. That said, I manage to go to a few Oilers games a year and, yes, I buy the ridiculously overpriced beer.)
Edmonton summers have been great: rollerblading or biking in the river valley; once or twice a year, I head to the mountains for some camping and hiking. My music taste runs the gamut, from rock & roll to classical and folk music (especially Newfoundland and Irish). I like to catch a live concert from time to time. As you can tell from my profile pic, I also strum a few songs on my guitar, either quietly at home or out at a party with friends. I love good conversations about pretty much anything; while sharing a good meal and/or a few drinks with friends and/or family.
So what I am looking for? You are someone who enjoys your life, your friends and family. Your career matters to you, but you also know how to relax & have fun. There with that out of the way lets get to it shall we? I am who I am and I don't pretend to be otherwise. But who is that I hear you asking in your mind. Picture if you will, a love of laughter, a love of nature and all the wonders of the natural world. A broad statement to be sure but oddly succinct. I enjoy intellectually stimulating conversation. I watch sports, and love being in the outdoors. But all that is irrelevant if one has nobody to share these things with. I'm looking for someone to do just that, share a laugh even if it happens to be at my own expense. Share new experiences and generally enjoy each others company.
