I am grateful for many things. Family, Life, career, health and mountain sports.
I am hoping to find/attract a fun, adventerous, funny, witty, stable mountain lady to share my passions and life with.
The things I am passionate about are. Mountain Biking (primarily single trail), Hiking ( day or overnight), Snowboarding, Cross country skiing, running (trail or pavement), camping. This is just a brief outline, I do have many more interests outside of mountain sports and no finger power to type them all down.

Meet a man from Alberta, Canada. Have you ever met someone where you had an instant connection? When I do it sure is a wonderful feeling. I do however recognize that it doesn't always happen so easily. But isn't that what makes life interesting. If it was always easy it wouldn't seem worthwhile.
I am really looking for someone I can have great conversation with and that person should have her own viewpoints and not be afraid to express them. I always enjoy an engaging conversation and often find the most interesting conversations are with people who have a different viewpoint.
The person I am looking for doesn't have to have all the same interests that I do. All you have to be is open minded and willing to try different things....and maybe introduce me to something new and exciting.

Update April 21/2011 - I was thinking to myself 'what is the most important thing that I can think of concerning the type of person that I want to meet and the ideal type of relationship that I want to have?' The first word that comes to mind is teammate. Someone who is going promote a positive atmosphere in which we will both grow and someone who I can set goals with and work towards those goals with. My second thought is that there is not enough emotion tied to the term teammate and so I guess it could be stated better as Best Friend like so many other people have stated it. I guess ultimately I'm looking someone to share the adventure with and have that deep connection with. What do you think?

I've been described as complex, but not complicated. I find a lot of pleasure in simple things, and am generally a no-frills type of person. And while I'm clearly (meaning "in no way") a dead ringer for Johnny Depp, I'd like to meet someone who's real enough to see through the glamour, down to the honest, honorable, stunningly-intelligent human being I am beneath the surface.
Over the years, I've been described as: quirky, creative, goofy, occasionally-blunt, sweet, open-minded, thoughtful, funny, sensitive, compassionate, and a pretty good communicator. I'm also extremely loyal once my trust is earned, and I make it a point to never lie.
I do have a tendency to be somewhat inscrutable, though. Meaning that sometimes I'm very hard to read. It can take awhile for me to open up.
I don't bother with a lot of "manly pursuits" - like quadding, fishing/hunting, or jumping on the couch while watching UFC. I do occasionally let my inner juvenile out to play, but I'd rather watch a movie, read a book, do something productive, or just chill with friends.
What I Want:
Besides some degree of physical attraction, I tend towards women who are smart, creative, somewhat independent, a bit aggressive, individualistic, open-minded, and have a good sense of humor/wit. It wouldn't hurt if said woman were a bit geeky/nerdy, too.
I appreciate a woman who takes pride in her appearance, but isn't especially high-maintenance. A woman who can dress up, but also look good (at least to me) sitting around in her jammies and bed-head. I'm of the attitude that "it's not so much what you've got, it's how well you do with what you've got". I also would like a woman who can help gouge me from my shell to some degree, and inspire me to try new things. I want someone who is ready to share their lives, and be incorporated into mine, to the betterment of both. That being said, I'm not interested in 1-night stands, nor am I interested in friends-with-benefits.
Ultimately, I don't want someone exactly like me. Nor someone radically different from me. I want someone who complements me.

I love travel, playing sports and constantly want to learn things. I get bored easily so I'm almost always on the go doing something. A movie on the couch is great during the winter or a summer rain storm but now that it's warm out I try to get outside as much as possible.
I don't run meth labs or international smuggling rings (although that could be a learning experience). I don't rob banks nor will I steal your car. I prefer dogs to cats, prefer team sports to the gym (although I do both) and love a cold beer on a patio with friends or around a camp fire at the end of a long hot day.
Right now I keep busy playing volleyball, slow pitch, going biking or jogging in the river valley and doing House Renos. I'm also doing my MBA through the University two nights a week in the fall and winter but that slows down a lot in the summer.
One of my goals is to see at least one new country every year... this year it's Costa Rica. I've heard great things and that its very adventure travel oriented... we will see what kind of trouble/fun I can find.
I'm ambitious, adventurous, confident and I'm looking for the same. I prefer a pub patio to the club scene so if you'd like to join me for a pint sometime drop me a line...
