Date people from Alberta, Canada. I moved to Calgary last year for work, which is going extremely well in case you wondered. However, being from Montreal, I don't know anyone here except my colleagues, so here I am.
My life up to now has been an incredible ride, and quite different from the typical lawyer's life, which I am very thankful for. My friends would say that I am highly intelligent, creative, genuine, articulate and probably a bit too clear about where I stand sometimes. Very disciplined, unconventional, intellectual and spontaneous. Being very conscious of how short a lifetime is, I love challenging myself, doing new things, coming to grips with complicated issues, weird & unexpected situations, and resolving everything elegantly. Sometimes this means I fail, but as long as I learn something and have an amusing story to tell it's all good. The most important thing to me is curiosity & a sense of adventure. I've had the chance to experience more than most, and it's depressing to meet people who are passive and uninterested in anything beyond creature comforts. There are so many things to see and do, but few of those worth doing will be brought to you via marketing campaigns, so get going already!
Besides my work & the obvious (history, theory, literature, film), I love beauty, creativity and originality. I love art galleries and museums and performance art of all kinds, the more unusual the better, as I used to be involved in that scene and I really miss it some days. Other things that stir me include sashimi, blue skies and travel (I'll go anywhere except to a resort.)

I spend every second weekend in the mountains and Kayak my ass off when I can. When I camp it is pure backwoods. I’ve done the whole motorhome thing and am over it. Give me my dog and a tent and I’m a happy boy. This tent has room for one more if you’re interested.
I was getting certified for diving in Mexico, and got to know the dive master very
well over the three days it took. My dive master's name was Peppe he was a
small Mexican man that didn't have much for possessions. I could tell the
previous day when I tipped him for the days work that money was a little tight.
On the last day of diving with Peppe we ran a little late getting back to shore.
The boat had to drive a little slower because of the rough water. Half way back
Peppe's cell phone rang. He answered with a smile, spoke for a few minutes in
Spanish (I don't speak it so I don't know what was said) then hung up the
phone. I looked at him and asked if that was the wife. He said something I will
never forget " Oh no senior that is my queen" in that one sentence I was envious
of what Peppe had. So you are looking for something real and I am looking for
my queen. That is why I'm on Match. One more tool can't hurt.

So, I have to write something about myself here....
I am looking for someone that I can start building something with. I am not in a rush so to speak, however I am not really interested in dating for the sake of dating. I am a fairly sensitive guy that actually really appreciates talking and the ability to be open with thoughts and feelings. The person I am looking for needs to be honestly looking for these qualities. No offense ladies however too many women say they want a sensitive man that talks yet when push comes to shove, they don't at all. I have always heard it said that women love to talk and men don't, interestingly enough, I have not too many women that "really" like to talk when it gets down to it. I love to talk, about just about anything. Idea's, the future, business, sports, travel, kids, movies, music. Like I said, just about anything. I am a somewhat intense person (that is what I have learned from listening to feedback from others). I have also learned that I don't balance well with another person whom is also fairly intense. That results in quite a lot of passion and then a fizzle. I guess I need to find the Yin to my Yang so to speak. I am looking for someone who is patient.
I enjoy running (I started a few months back and recently ran my first 10km), I enjoy going for walks. I love technology and movies. I love a good bottle of red wine and being close to the special person in my life. I love to travel however it has been a bit hard of late being a relatively new single dad with kids. That would likely be my most favourite thing to do. I also love finding ways to give back. To my friends, to my community, to the global community. I am always open to new idea's and teaching them to my kids where possible.
