I was born in the Philippines but came to Canada when I was 1 year old. I grew up in Toronto and eventually moved to Edmonton 3 years ago as a result of a transfer at work.
I've been fortunate to travel to alot of places around the world, through work, or with family and friends. I love Europe and have visited England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Holland and Belgium. However I feel at home when I visit Asian countries ( I wonder why that is?? hmmm...) I plan to eventually take a trip to China, Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Thailand, Korea, Philippines and Hong Kong to name a few. Not all in one shot since I have a lifetime to do it all. I've been all over the US and my favourite city is NYC. Guess it's because I'm from the concrete jungle and the big city not new to me. But NYC has so many different sights, sounds, smells and excitement.
As I said I'm from the big city so the outdoorsy thing I do once in a while. It doesn't mean that I don't want to and won't try something at least once but I've done the camping and fishing thing, explored the Rockies. Since in my job I could live in the field anywhere from a week to a few months, sometimes the last thing I want to do is spend more time under a tent. But living it rough for that long makes me realize that I am fortunate to have what I have and I appreciate everything more than probably the average person does. Things I still yet have to try is skydiving, hanggliding, zip lines, quadding, dirt biking, hmmmm and maybe hunting. Maybe nay for the latter.
I enjoy the occassional night at a pub/bar with friends and maybe once in a blue moon hit up a club and get my groove on. I have though grown out of the clubbing phase, finally :P , but it's good to just listen to some good beats and get your body bumpin. The music I usually prefer listening to is hip hop, r&b, reggae, house and pop. Country is definitely out of the question, except for a couple tunes that I find catchy. Most of the stuff I dig is old school as the newer stuff seems to be retarded useless garb that makes absolutely no sense at all and is mostly likely made only for the clubs. You get lyrics such as:
1) "I will catch a grenade for you" - as the meaning behind this is absolutely simple, ummm where the heck are you taking your dates? Last time I checked, the battlefield is not the best place to make a good impression. It may make a lasting impression, if you get out alive but maybe you should google dating advice.
2) "Superman dat ho" - to date I still have no clue what this means and I won't even bother trying to find out. Maybe he's got Sexray Vision or did he play scrabble one night and put together a bunch of words that don't make sense together but knew he could become an overnight sensation
So if you haven't guessed because you're not astute the obvious, I am in the military. Back in the civilian world I was working as a heavy duty truck technician but I also enjoyed the idea of the army. Prior to being to transferred to Edmonton, I was also employed part-time in the reserves. Since the opportunity was there to work full-time in the field as well as be a soldier boy, I decided to make that jump into the regular force and sign my soul away to the big green machine.
