I have seen the pattern even with my friends, married ones that end up splitting up/divorced – it seems like within months they are back into another relationship. Perhaps it’s the need to return to what you are accustomed to. So if you have been with someone, sharing everything, always having them around – then you gravitate back to that situation.

For me, I enjoy my independence, not to mean that I am out carousing and partying, far from it. It’s just that I am accustomed to being alone at home. If you never have been that way then you might not understand. But…for those that do –
I have a dry sense of humour which I tend to keep to myself until I get to know you or you get to know me. I try to stay fit, workout every day. I hope to move somewhere tropical when I retire, which luckily for me is in 7 or 8 years. I love Mexico, the coasts anyway. I vacation there at least twice a year now though I think I would like to try something smaller than the mega-resorts I have gone to.
On my last trip I went alone and was quite happy to wander the beach for hours just lost in my thoughts – in fact I wandered along, daydreaming and ended up in Playa Del Carmen – over 6km away - then had to walk back!
I don’t know what I can promise you as far as the dynamic of a relationship other than to let you know I am affectionate and monogamous. If you are looking to find Mr. Right with a preplanned time-line and structured relationship, I probably wouldn’t be the one for you.

If we are compatible and enjoy each other’s company, make each other happy and laugh then I would be good with that. I am far too set in my ways to try to embark on a whole new lifestyle.
