Meet a soulmate from Canada. I watch a lot of movies, and in so many of them (considering the modes of classical Hollywood cinema that still prevail) there is a nice couple that really love each other by the end. If you watch enough of these movies, you end up wondering why this is not a part of your life - as in, simply why you do not feel particularly attracted to any of the people around you. You (I) also start wondering if the feeling of passionate love actually exists, if the kind of men that are in these movies -as in, men who actually seem to have emotions at all - exist, and, how the hell people actually get married - actually find someone they have the desire to marry?
So, I have great friends, I know I have great friends, and I love spending time with them, but I am having a hard time believing that, for me, something with greater feeling might ever exist. Which brought me to this site.
I have lived in a few places around the world, and am one of those people who try to curb how much time I spend comparing the places I have lived. All in all I am pretty happy with my lot in life, I have a great family, and, as before mentioned, great friends. I am finally studying something I am interested in. I truly love the beauty and possibilities in this world. When I am in a bad mood, or angry, I do not see the beauty in the world, but rather just want to rip to pieces the stockings that are making me itchy, and then I take off the stockings, and things are nice again. (My stockings are currently making me itchy)
I don't think I can say specifically what I am looking for beyond that I want someone who can be a great friend of mine while being something much more at the same time. I do not see why the whole dating scene needs to be so formal and awkward in the beginning, the contrived first date idea seems irrelevant, why does it have to be dinner and a movie? (And why does Google Chrome not recognise the word 'movie' with it's spell check?) Like everyone I want someone who I can be comfortable with. Specifically I know what I don't want, and that is someone who is emotionally numb, has a superiority complex, believes animals have no soul, or does any of the things that are truly frowned upon in our society.
