Meet a man from British Columbia, Canada. The greatest endeavor, and pleasure of the last 20 years has been raising my two children. I have been happily separated since my daughter was 4, she is now 16. My son almost 19 lives away now at university. Both kids have lived with me at least half time. We have lots of laughs and have managed to make it thorough with no rules. We just look out for each other. I think it is important to encourage young people so I have tried to never say no. We find a way to say yes.
I have a strong personality (I have been told this once or twice ) and as is with everyone my best traits are my worst liabilities. I have lots of energy, I'm positive, quick witted, outspoken and kind of idealistic. I am fiercely loyal and I am not sure I can even spell shy. Nothing there that could cause any ripples.
I have been fortunate enough to have always worked for myself and have had enough moderate successes to continue to do so. I am probably unemployable anyway. I have never confused who I am with what I do.
I competed in Judo for many years and wrestled at university, so physically I would be stocky. Or as one friend calls me rough tough and easy to bluff.
I like to do most things outdoors, lately it has been mountain biking. I have done lots of kayaking, wilderness rafting, and day hiking.I can cook quite well on a campfire. I am not a gardner but if it is outside I like building things. Our house is heated with a woodstove, and wood heats one about 5 times, cutting, splitting, moving, stacking, then burning. Its a good thing I enjoy all 5.
Humour is important in my life. It keeps everyone from taking themselves too seriously. Of course if someone laughs at my jokes I consider them to have a good sense of humour as well. It is difficult to use humour here and not seem flippant. Being serious makes me seem pompous.
I enjoy women and I like them. I have learned a lot about women from my daughter. She in some ways is the first woman I have spent any energy thinking about. Not to kid anybody though, I still have a lot to learn about women and relationships. I think kindness and sincerity are most important in a relationship.
I must confess to not getting that whole soul mate thing.I think back to about grade 3 no one started out to be best friends they simply said lets go do something. The next day it happened again, and them somehow it became assumed you would do something or everything together. This is in my simple way how I see good friends coming together. If you are a women who wishes to do some things and have some fun, keep me in mind.
