Meet men and women from Esquimalt, Canada. It was graciously pointed out to me that my last profile didn't accurately reflect who I was very well. So I have under taken a significant rewrite with the hope that I can more accurately describe myself. Because I really dislike talking about myself, writing this is a little difficult for me. The funny thing is that I know what I want in partner and what I don't want.
I can't expect people to reply to an ad that says what they are looking for without knowing a bit about the person who is writing it.
Me:
I have been described at a genuinely sincere guy who has a lot of depth of character. I'm pretty casual and easy going. I possess a dark, somewhat cynical/sarcastic sense of humour. I think the key to me is my personality. I am really laid back and casual. People say that I radiate an aura of calmness. I seldom get overly excited about anything. I will usually speak what is on my mind. I have a bit of a dark sense of humor. I can be a little sarcastic, but I try to blend it with a generous blend of cynicism. I recognize that not everybody appreciates this type of humor. Forewarned is forearmed. Physically, I am currently working at rearranging a few extra pounds that have accumulated in the past couple of years. It was easy to let them accumulate through negligence than it is to get rid of them through diligence.
I'm not a truly outdoorsy type of guy. My definition of roughing it is a motel with few amenities. Having said that; I love to spend the day communing with nature, a nice walk/hike in the wilderness is fine. Ocean side strolls with a picnic are awesome. It is just not something I will do every single time. There are other ways to see the wildlife in this city and I'm not referring to a stroll through the rougher neighborhoods either. I also do enjoy getting out on a bicycle and feeling the wind in my face. I love the water and am getting the yearning to take up something water related be it boating, surfing or kayaking. I am most at home when I am near or on the water.
I tend to enjoy some televised sports (hockey and football are personal favourites)and enjoy attending live events too. I also enjoy well-crafted action/drama/comedy tv series. When out I enjoy shopping (antiques, thrift stores, and retail) people watching and just experiencing new sensations. Live theatre is also something that I feel quite strongly about. I am fairly articulate, and love a good discussion. I also like getting out to a movie from time to time. Escapism at its finest. Good food and great wine are another passion.
The other thing I do enjoy is getting in my car and just going where the road takes me and seeing what is at the end of the road or just cruising for the sake of getting away from the daily grind of life and changing the scenery.
I do want to do some travelling soon. I'm a fan of history so many of the destinations on my list are both historical and cultural. I'm by no means a truly sophisticated man, just a simple guy with complex tastes.
I enjoy my job. I love working in retail management and I love dealing with people from all walks of life. The only real downside is that this job involves shift work. No two weeks are identical so my days off are all over the place.
Ideally, I'm seeking somebody who is healthy in mind, body and soul. All three are not requirements; I am open to negotiation on body. Unfortunately Mind and Soul are not negotiable . I get along best with people who are open minded, nonjudgmental and have strong social graces.
We are all seeking the "one" and hoping to find somebody who you share that elusive "spark" with. I've come to the realization that I may not ever find that. That realization does not mean that I will settle for just anybody. It means that I am open to people who I may connect with on a variety of other levels and allow a bond to develop over time and shared experiences.
