Over the years, I've had lot's of adventures... I hiked in the Rockies for 5 years straight. I've managed small mountains hostels and worked in the main ones. I jumped into the French language realm of Hull, Quebec for a number of years as a resident....even worked on Parliament Hill for a bit. Lived on Long Bearch for a couple of years...worked throwing fish about. I have 260 credit hours from SFU and was in 17 different departments. I lived in Dawson, Yukon and was traipsing about north Yukon. I've given regular tours on a glacier and more tours in the badlands of Alberta....snocoaches, both. Then there were 3 trips to Europe totalling 11 months.
Careerwise, I've settled into an internet business which has kept me going well for the past 14 years. (So thinking in Match.com terms, currently I'm mobile.) However, I do anticipate a change of direction in the next few years. (When that happens, I'll probably be stuck in one place.) As a sideline, I've created and promote a wonderful historical map which First Nations peoples really like!
The real competition in life however is health and with that, things are going not too bad. ie. exercise, flexibility etc. I'm a wicked ice skater on regular skates, enjoy walking, keen cycler, and my rollerblades have five wheels. Take that! I I've two kayaks...no kayak rack. Putting holes in the roof of my brand new car is not my top priority. heh.
Through all this, I have never married or even lived with anyone. No kids.
Okay, I would like to set something straight. I'm not a wall flower. I have been meeting women continuously over the past while. The problem is the women I meet are always married. It's like a curse. And it's fatiguing me.... That's why I'm here on Match.
Another little detail, If you are an American from that wonderful country south of the border, there is no point in winking at me. In this instance, love can not conquer all. The international border issues are really, really complicated as Canadian Immigration is trying to prevent marriages of convenience. Thence, this leads to the need to put your signature on multi-year government contracts which come with serious legal and money obligations plus a whole series of obstacles (which include lengthy waiting periods and government interviews.) It's really problematic!
Through reading other profiles, I realize I should be writing a description of my personality! First and foremost, I would say I'm a nice person. You could do a lot worse than me. You would discover that I'm cheerful and I smile a lot. I'm optimistic. I like experiencing new things and would certainly be very interested in whatever you might have to say. Probably, I'm more of a quiet person. However if we connect, I'll have a bundle of things to say. When I focus on things, I tend to do a really good job. Thence, any initial apparent deficencies that I may seem to have could be overcome....I just need a little time to sort myself out. I'm one of those people, whom the more you know, the more you discover there is to know. I would be intensely loyal and dedicated to you. Also, I should say I have a considerable, but not endless, amount of patience.
Yet another little detail, some people write "they don't do drama"! ie. yelling, heated arguments are not in their DNA. I am the same. I'm much too sensitive to endure such situations and would much prefer to work things out through discussion...

for CNR After 1 year I was promoted as a roadmaster with my own subdivision to look after! In 1977 I applied for a trainman took the courses for a promotion to a condutor; then 2years of courses and promoted finally a Locomotive Engineer running frieght trains in 1985
Retired October 1st 2010.
I am enjoying my life to the fullest!
