I am beginning a new path in my life. I have recently moved into my own home and am really enjoying a new found freedom and independance. Right now I am interested in meeting new people. I want to be friends first...if something more develops, that's great...but not the goal at the moment.
I enjoy living an active lifestyle...this is more fun to share with others. In the summer, gardening, hiking, biking, camping, etc. In the winter, cross-country skiing tops my list. I also enjoy spending quiet time at home. Reading a good book, cooking, making stained glass, or just watching a little TV or a movie.
I have a young person in my life who is number one. We love to spend time outdoors together...riding bikes, hiking, fishing, exploring, etc. You name it, we are probably up for it.

Meet a soulmate from Kamloops, Canada. I love life and always try to remember to take pleasure in and to be grateful for the small things as well as the big ones. I have spent the past seven years pursuing my education, and now that I'm done (working full time, studying full time and raising a son full time), I'm excited to get back to remembering what else I love in life (so far: reading, gardening, cooking and baking for friends, walking and biking with my son, getting re-acquainted with the gym and hiking around in the mountains, getting back on horses).
From what I remember so far, I love the outdoors, but I have been forced to accept that I'm not a huge fan of sleeping out there. Give me a full day hike to a glacier with a hot bath and a good night's sleep in a four or five star hotel - that sounds about perfect to me (don't worry, I can afford my own room). I'm not afraid of getting dirty, bloody, blistered or sore if it is in the pursuit of an amazing experience, but I'm also pretty partial to relaxing with a good meal, great music, good friends, family or a good book. While my dog-sitter will tell you that I'm often taking off for adventures, I'm somehow at the same time a bit of a home-body - I like my homebase and find the familiarity comforting. I also like the projects that come along with making that space better (ok, I admit it, I'm also into my "home porn" ...magazines and TV).
Honesty and integrity come first for me. I'm optimistic, motivated, hard-working, loving and affectionate. I've been called witty, smart, etc by my kinder critics. I tend to be pretty health oriented (healthy diet, healthy lifestyle), but I also try to keep balance - while I try to observe at least a couple of vegetarian days a week, I doubt you could ever talk me into veganism. You generally won't find pop, chips, junky cereal or much prepared food in my house.
I take my responsibility to my remarkable son very seriously, so if you are looking for a situation that does not involve children, I wish you luck with your search, but I am not the person for you.
While I am definitely open to hanging out, honesty, integrity and maturity are crucial in a serious partner. I know it is the typical joke, but I want a partner who understands that if I ask if I look good in these jeans, I want a true (but loving) answer (in return, I promise to make sure that if I ask the "dangerous" questions, I really do want to hear the truth). If you have lied about your particulars (age, etc) on your profile, you won't be what I'm looking for - I need a guy with the courage to be real and honest, because no relationship that I want can begin on a foundation of dishonesty. I'm probably looking for what everybody else on here is (or thinks they are) - kindness, loyalty, affection, fun, adventure, life - a good match to share it all with.

. I am a laid back, easy going, very caring, woman who enjoys her life, but would love to find the "someone" to share it with. I have a great job and a home life with no stresses. During the warmer months I enjoy working out in my yard and getting out for nice walks/hikes. During the cooler months I spend more time at the gym...pretty mellow.
