Date men and women from British Columbia, Canada. I'm a pretty independent person, comfortable in my own company. I have never outgrown curiousity or the need to question everything I hear - not in a cynical way, but I just like to hear all sides of a story. I take responsibility for my own health and finances, and I am always researching natural ways to live, eat and manage my health. I love gardening and my small farm-like acreage. I like to raise my own veggies and meat, dairy, and eggs. I like the freedom of working for myself. I am laid back about schedules regarding eating, sleeping, etc. but I respect others' preferences, and I am rarely late to anything. I am deeply spiritual and my values in life, as well as the way I interact with others, reflects this. I believe in leaving someone free to be their own person, but I also am clear about what I like or prefer, as well as my boundaries.
I am very passionate about personal freedom, especially when it comes to government regulations concerning health, food, and religion. I don't believe in interfering in other countries' business anymore than I would tell my neighbour or friends how they should live.
I also challenge established religion's dogma, believing that my relationship with the Creator is between me and the Creator. And the same goes for whoever I am in contact with.
My friends describe me as positive, outgoing, friendly, talkative,gritty, passionate, organized, knowledgeable, self-motivated.
Socially, I like a small gathering or time at home. I don't go out and party, but I don't mind the occasional get-together.
I fostered years ago, and still feel so good about the difference I made in more than a few children's lives. I still really like kids - I have a 14 year old adopted son that brings me incredible joy, fun, and pride! I am open to having a small child in my life again, if the circumstances were right.
I am so grateful to have my own place to live the lifestyle that many people just dream about. It is quiet, peaceful, relaxed and I feel freedom to just go with the flow. I don't have tiring schedules to keep and I don't have to worry about going every day to a job I dislike just to make ends meet.
I love silly, slapstick comedy, including some of the puns in kids' movies. I also like it when a person is politically incorrect and just nails hypocrisy or absurdity in religion or politics.
I am very passionate about social injustice, I can go on and on about that. Anything that violates a person's God-given right to freedom, happiness, or anything else gets me going.
I guess I am just looking for someone to just walk alongside me, someone to have fun with, someone to learn from, to learn with, to share with. I am hoping this person will challenge me in a good way, but I am looking for that special someone that I know has my back.
I am looking for a strong, confident, old-fashioned sort of guy, someone who is respectful, likes to open doors for a lady, and can roll up his sleeves and do what needs to be done. He should be tender and open as well, and able to tell me what he needs to feel loved.
