A little about my past and me: I grew up in Victoria in a fairly protected environment and played hockey all the time. I didn't really like school but did my homework anyways. I'm back in Victoria but have not always lived here.
I'm an engineer now with a couple of small companies. I like to work on projects that interest me. I'm not too interested in 9-5. The result is that I'm working 6-7 days a week and late nights. If I'm not at a desk; I'm figuring something out in my head.
I used to feel isolated in Victoria but through travel, work and the internet my world has expanded. I don't feel any need to move.
To be honest the last 10 years have been financially and emotionally difficult but I've worked through it and am getting back on track. I kept up my volunteer work with young engineers and I put a lot of sweat into developing some technology that I hope to put in to use soon - quite exciting. In the last few years I adopted a beautiful cat from the SPCA.
Yep, I have no illusion that life is sunshine and lollipops.
I'm looking for a bright partner that is willing to deal with the ups and downs, or whatever might come along, together with a level head. Importantly, I'm looking for someone that is also interested in working on an emotionally intimate relationship,
I need my downtime so if you have your own interests and are being ok on your own sometimes that is big plus.
It takes a little time to tune into me so you'd need some patience. I'm honest, kind and reliable. That is how I was brought up.

I consider myself a honest, trusting, compassionate man and I expect the same from others. Some of my
friends say I am too trusting and way to compassionate for the times we live in. But that is the way I was
raised and I am too old to change.
I'd like to be more active and get outdoors more and am working on that. Starting to walk to the store instead
of driving. I am starting to think about my health and eating habits more. Passing on that 2nd desert ( LoL )
I have taken up walking and hike some what.. Though it is a bit boreing solo..
I really enjoy a good laugh, even if it's aimed at me. I think humor is what helps keeps us young and excited about life.
I want to travel more as the years go on and see much more of the world than I've seen so far. I like to experience the
culture of the different places I have been I am thinking of Greece or Italy as the next places I'd like to visit. They both have
so much history to see and experience.
I enjoy most sports, but don't rearrange my life to watch them all day. All though, I do enjoy every once in a while being with the guys and catching a game or 2 down at the local watering hole, even when my team loses.
I enjoy a good walk in the rain ( com'on it's Victoria, right!) or a stroll along the beach. Haven't been on a bike in a long time, and inline roller blades are something I am thinking of getting into this coming summer, and would love to take up boating too.
I can't say I am the life of the party, ( Sorry, no Robin Williams or Adam Sandler here ) but I do enjoy good conversations, but am
more of a listener, and wait till I have something to say or contribute to the conversation... we all can't be talking at once, right?
