Date a soulmate from Nanaimo, Canada. Life 2.0 has started. I'm a single, very lucky empty nester with a wonderfully low maintenace adult Daughter. I am recent to The Island. I'm on my way home. Not my birth home; my magnetic home.
About me: I'm quite certain that my dying words won't be "I wish I would have spent 15 more minutes at the office." Part of the adrenalin rush and endorphin release of taking the road less travelled is being confident and comfortable with oneself to one's core and simultaneously respectfully mindful while re-engineering one’s living and working variables.
I have a car. I have a job. I don't live with my parents. I'm looking for a creative, enthusiastic, curious, unconventional friend: my compliment, not a dependent. Unconventional’ does not mean FWB’ here. I appreciate good company. A second heartbeat close by. Someone to look forward to.
If shopping, redecorating, Oprah or the beautiful people are important to you, stop reading now please. Same for horses and dogs. Any animal's poop I have to shovel or pick up is not my idea of a good time.
I am 50.1% homebody, 49.9% traveller. Not tourist: traveller. The Carribean is not travel. It's tourism, unless you stay in a tent or hostel or live with locals. If you've booked your trip online or with a travel agent, you're a tourist. Move on...
As a homebody, I try to get 6 - 8 hours sleep. I know chores have to be done and I will do. At the other end of the spectrum, I'm not averse to a good idiot box marathon on a bad weather day if there is something worth watching. Between those two are cooking, hosting, playing music, mac’ing, gaming (but not gambling), verbally jousting, porch monkeying, gardening and being hypnotized by a contained flame and logs or any natural phenomena. Domestic laughter and quality social noise are also very much enjoyed.
As 49.9% traveller, I walk or cycle daily. I prefer to hike weekly. I'm a spartan traveller, not a tourist. I don't like travelling anywhere during their local high season; not because I'm cheap but because less time is wasted. I will go anywhere (safe) on the planet my girl wants to go. I don't like luggage or lines so I travel as light as possible.
I will start a band. I need a bandmate. Everyone can sing. Add a tambourine or a cowbell and you're in! Those candidates with public performance issues are exempt.
I lost my house to fire a few years ago and it was a excellent reality check and has had a very positive affect on my approach to life and consumption. I'm not an enviro-nazi; I'm simply looking to trend downward in my over consumption. Leave a progressively smaller wake. I'm not going Eddie Albert because I would never go near Zsa Zsa Gabor.
In a perfect world I get to live on The Island for as long as possible. I would possibly try the Upper Mainland if the right opportunity came along but it would have to be very right.
My Grandchildren are nowhere in my Daughter's sight or thoughts (she's just finishing school at OU) so my situation is like my attitude: open, flexible, versatile and well reasoned.
As a newbie on The Island, it would be nice to have a partner to explore and show me around, especially in non-urban locations. Someone to go to a movie with. Chat on the beach in folding chairs, avec libation if appropriate.
In closing, I would like to thank you for your time and interest however (and read this very, very carefully) you will only be replied to if you have a better chance than a snowball’s does in a pizza oven. You will not be contacted directly by me because I have two brains and only enough blood to operate one at a time. I believe that acknowledging my shortcomings (no pun intended) is half way to beating them. Monogamously.
If you are still reading this, please drop me a line. You are a solid candidate by virtue of the fact that you have come this far…
May both Jimmy and Warren bless you with Buddha’s approval

Meet a soulmate from British Columbia, Canada. Dear partner , I love that we do not sweat the small stuff, and laugh often. We are each others safe haven, and we argue and make up well. We enjoy time together, simple stuff like grocery shopping, car washing, and more serious stuff like business events, family and friend gatherings. The most amazing time is hanging out at the campfire, kissing you in row boat, and eating dinner by candlelight.
