A bit about me: I'm a born-and-raised Vancouverite. I've lived in Calgary (you know, where it's 40 below!), so I now truly appreciate how lucky I am to have lived in the Lower Mainland for most of my life.
I'm a feisty redhead (also known as a ginger ninja) and I may or may not have the classic redhead temper - you'll just have to get to know me to find out. But they (whoever "they" are) say that any (natural) redhead is descended from Vikings, and we all know that that lot could be a rowdy bunch, so I'll leave it to you to draw your own conclusions and roll the dice if you dare!
I'm a driven, ambitious, funny, witty, tenacious, and strong-willed "ginja ninja", and have been known to have a dry sense of humour. I'm quick to smile and love to laugh, and I'm looking for the same in my partner. I've got brains upstairs and enjoy using them on a regular basis - but I also like to be dorky and silly and I have no problem making fun of myself.
I do yoga and go to the gym to stay healthy and strong (but in the last month I have been nursing a couple of injuries so I haven't been able to work as hard as I like to). I have an active social life but I also enjoy staying at home with a book and a glass of wine. I recently discovered Maui and while I have the lily-white complexion of my Irish ancestors (read: I was not built for sunny climates), I have made it my goal to get back to Maui as many times as I can before I'm too old to travel any more. I discovered stand-up-paddle surfing in Maui and I've tried it here too, and I'm hoping that I can rehab my rotator-cuff injury before summer 2011 so I can get back on the water. Note: I'm not great at stand-up-paddle boarding (YET), but I LOVE being out on the water on the board.
I enjoy the occasional pint of lager or gin & tonic with friends at a pub. I'm not a tea-totaller, but I'm also not a daily drinker. I'd like you to be similar in that respect.
I like sushi and this past summer I was brave and tried sashimi only to discover that I really enjoy it. I also enjoy Indian, Chinese and Italian cuisine, and I'm hoping to get out there soon and try this Indian-Asian fusion that everyone seems to be talking about these days.
I don't really have a physical "type" but it's mandatory to have physical chemistry. Let's be honest, without the chemistry, we'll only be friends. Wait, there is one thing. I like to wear high heels, so either you're a few inches taller than my 5'4" or you're OK with it if I'm towering over you [winks].
My friends would describe me as funny, loyal, direct, genuine, driven, and caring...but they would definitely never describe me as a pushover :-)
I have a well-developed social-life and a career I enjoy. I am the proud auntie to a energetic 2-year old niece who I love to bits - she is an important part of my life and I make it a priority to spend time with her. I'm really looking forward to when she's old enough to hang out with me by herself. I can't wait to teach her everything I've learned about being a good human being.
I've worked hard to get to where I'm at in my life and I'm looking for that trait in my partner. To be clear, what I'm saying is that I'm not looking for someone to "complete" me - I'm complete on my own. What I am looking for is someone who I can (eventually) share my life with, but someone who also relishes and respects the fact that I have my own life.
