Date people from British Columbia, Canada. I have friends that think only crazy people are on the internet, I disagree (I imagine you do too). To me, this is just another avenue to meet people. You ready?
I am a positive person. I wake up happy and I try to do my best at everything I do. I've learned that what you put into this world is more often than not what you'll get out of it. May as well be positive!
I'm thankful for family, friends, and my health. I send out Christmas cards and I take the time to visit with people even if it means long drives or flights across the country. I care, I'm passionate, and I believe 'what goes around comes around'.
I'm not a total health freak, but I do workout 5-6 days a week. I shop for non-fat & organic products where possible, and I don't typically eat junk food. I do have the occasional nachos, fried foods, muffin or cookie (I do have a sweet tooth) but I don't stock my cupboards with candy, chocolate, or pop. Enough said.
My friends would describe me as funny, loyal, caring, and 'street-smart'. I'm also rather persistent and determined which has made me quite successful in many aspects of my life. I've been told I'm an excellent communicator. I can express my feelings and I am a very good listener. I've spent the time to get to know myself, and in so doing, I think I've learned to better understand others as well.
I consider myself normal, emotionally stable, and level headed and people who know me would agree. Though that may sound boring or "Vanilla", there's no shortage of fun stories in my life. I've had some awesome experiences and they continue to happen. I'm always down for an adventure and I think life is what you make of it. It's about putting out that positive fun vibe and then keeping an open mind as the opportunities present themselves. (Yes, I did read The Secret)
Fun stuff: I like dogs more than cats, but whatever..My favourite dinosaur is a pterodactyl, I have a motorcycle and love going for rides. I'm a runner and I like to race the 5K. I have a road bike, but it's old and I suck on it, but it's good cross training. I don't swim very well, but I took lessons and I've jumped into the ocean off a 20' drop and survived, so I think I'm ok with water. I go to the gym, but I'm not a beef-cake. I like to drink lattes and dress nice but I can also fix your car's brakes, or whatever else is wrong with it.
So what does that make me, a Metro-Redneck-Athlete-Comedian???

You live a healthy lifestyle. You're kind and caring by nature. You know what you want and are somewhat independent. I think I would prefer someone who is more socially outgoing than not. However, as long as you have the confidence to say what you think and feel, it's all good.
When I'm in a relationship I love to spend lots of time with my partner. Given that, we probably won't share ALL our hobbies. I would like someone that has enough of 'their own thing going on'; so that we can each pursue our own separate interests and bring those experiences back to the relationship. You know, it gives us something to talk about and keeps things fresh.
It would be nice to share a love of music as I almost always have the radio on or a cd playing. I used to play the piano, so I have a huge respect for any musical talent. I like to go camping on a 7-10 day trip at least once a year, so hopefully you'd be interested in doing that as well. I'm not a neat freak but I keep a clean home. I don't think I would work well with a messy person, though you never know.
Lastly, it's tough to feel chemistry with someone through an email; you never know with whom you'll hit it off. Sometimes you just have to meet in person and see how things go.

I'd certainly consider someone who lives on the mainland and would hope that if you're over there, you don't discount me because of the distance. My family is there and I come over often.

I'm just looking for honesty and extremely limited amounts of drama. I also need someone who is comfortable with silence when it happens. If you feel the need to fill the voids with useless conversation about your new ringtone or what happened on last night's reality show, we probably won't get on. If you're homophobic or racist we won't get along. I respect opposing views and I'm interested is hearing them as long as you don't plan on pushing your views on me and can respect that I might not agree.
If you disrespect cops or our military, we won't get along. I'm related to cops and I while I don't support the Western governments' invasion of the Middle East, I do support the troops. Those people deserve our respect.
I don't mind long distance within reason and I don't have a problem if you work away for stretches of time. If you're trustworthy, it's really not an issue. I like having space anyway.
I love Halloween, I hate extreme violence as a form of entertainment. I appreciate proper grammar and spelling. I'm not into clubs but I don't mind going out once in a while. I prefer the good company of a few with good conversation. I'm happy just sitting back and watching the ocean or the stars.
I love the Rockies so if you want to find a ski hill, I'm up for it. Even just a road trip with some great tunes is good time.
