Date women from Canada / British Columbia / Port Moody, 58 year old

Date someone special from Port Moody, Canada. I'm happy as I am, but if there is a special someone out there for me... maybe, just maybe we will find each other here.
I am grateful for everything I have. A job I love. Great relationships with my adult children. Great friends. I live in a wonderful part of the world.... health, wealth and happiness.
I'm a bit jaded, but have not given up entirely on the idea that there may be a future relationship.
I'm looking for something new, something fun. I'm not looking for something hot and heavy. Friends first.
I enjoy reading and cooking together. Going to independent and foreign films. Theatre. Galleries and museums. Old and beautiful buildings. I enjoy walking in forests and along beaches. Picnicking. I enjoy playing scrabble. I've got a bike and I like riding around on it, though don't get me wrong... I'm not an athletic type of cyclist. In fact I prefer to stop and look at birds and flora on route. I'm also keen on tennis.
I've been on my own for five years and I have heard that sometimes people find someone to share their lives with, so I thought well why not give it a go?
I value honesty and loyalty above riches.
So please email me if you can relate to what I've written.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and good luck to you on your journey.

Meet a soulmate from Port Moody, Canada. At some times I think I have everything I want & need, and at others I long for the warmth and comfort that develops in a close partner relationship. In an interview on CBC I learned almost 50% of us live alone as inditviduals! What an interesting thing to contemplate – I guess that’s how all those condos get filled up over time! I can see why this trend developed, and maybe this is something you understand too. You and I might also agree that the possible alternative we're seek here on the Internet, is something to continue to strive towards. We want to become intimate, to travel with a compatible companion, hold hands on walks, enjoy romantic dinners, talk about and discuss current events, the people we know/love, how the day went. Find out what makes the other tick. There is so much to learn and do.
I enjoy traveling and if there is one good reason among many to find a compatible partner, this would be it. Places IРІР‚в„ўve loved to date: Newfoundland, the other Maritime provinces, my sisterРІР‚в„ўs little house in a smallish Mexican community on the west coast, everywhere IРІР‚в„ўve been in Europe. Places I would love to go in the future: anywhere thatРІР‚в„ўs geographically beautiful and/or interesting. I am not as interested in hanging at a resort, as in taking a more adventurous approach (lively daytime excursions balance evening culinary adventures, building appetite yet keeping overall caloric intake in line!). Of course, I love a warm jaunt when the dark & chilly monsoons hit. Love any holiday where I can hike or kayak. More of Canada. Grand Canyon and other natural sites - adventure tours. Love the dessert. Eastern Europe, maybe Africa. The possibilities are endless, especially with two to tango.
I have a motorcycle (see photo) parked behind my car in the underground. I began riding at 50 & last year was the first time I didn’t take it on the road – combination of really bad weather & a 6 week trip to the East coast. Somehow I just didn’t get around to it & I’m hoping the weather will be much better this year. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll want to ride, but I will say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. I take my safety seriously & have not had a frightening incident, though I am no wimp and have logged a lot of kms around BC & Northwest US, often on my own (in BC anyway). Not important for a prospective partner to want to ride.
At home or away, I spend as much time outdoors as I can – I like to walk, hike, kayak, go to the beach, snow shoe. I used to ski, still could. I very much enjoy being downtown – Granville Island, Stanley Park, Commercial, and Main Streets – local shopping areas. I’m not really much of a shopper, but if there are interesting specialty stores, I enjoy looking & getting ideas. I love to cook for friends & there’s another nice thing to do with a date! I rarely watch TV, but do enjoy it sometimes. Enjoy public lectures, theatre, movies.
I have a rewarding career that enriches my life. I think I make a difference every day & am not ready to retire. Good holidays, own my own home in a fabulous neighbourhood, live a good life. I am generally happy & optimistic, enjoy good conversation. My interests are anything to do with history, society, culture – I love to consider the human condition. How cultures work and make us unique. Why some people are this way and others are that. Love to read broadly - fiction/non-fiction/professional.
I don’t like to unduly limit possibilities, but there are some qualities I look for in a man that are important to me: good character, physically fit and well put together, enjoying good conversation (whatever that means to the two of us), active outdoors, socializing with friends and family. Someone who is close to my age, maybe two to 4 years either way. Beyond those, most other things are a matter of getting to know each other and maybe trying new things – all depends on the relationship that builds.
