Date women from Canada / British Columbia / Powell River, 51 year old

Date a soulmate from British Columbia, Canada. I am looking for a friend who loves dogs, Europe and British Drama- beyond Monty Python, although I do like them as much as the next babyboomer. My passions include murder mysteries, listening to the CBC, especially the Sunday line-up, zumba fitness, my dogs (most dogs), beachcombing and walking. I love baking and I like cooking, generally vegetarian meals. I was a vegetarian for many years; I started when I lived in Japan for a year. I have always been very politically aware and concerned with the environment and the law. I am interested in taking up bee-keeping at some point, as I already know something about it. I would love to go mushroom picking sometime. I'd like to continue traveling; I'd like to see Canada's north and am toying with the idea of a Dickensian Christmas in London. After that, slow food Italy? Like most of us, I found writing this difficult, but I now realize that my needs are fairly simple. I am empathetic and very loyal, kind and caring. I am able to apologize, and am looking for someone who doesn't find that too difficult. I am a generally a homebody, but I like getting out and meeting people, and can be vivacious and entertaining when I get to know them. I prefer being outdoors to being in front of a computer screen. I would like to meet someone who is willing to work at maintaining a partnership and who can articulate his needs and wants, yet can also sometimes let go of them- in the spirit of compromise:) While I can be pretty entertaining and I do have a sense of humour -okay, it's a dry sense of humour- I can sometimes be too serious, and I would really love to just have more fun. Do you think you can you teach me to "lighten up"? My job keeps me busy and I have recently ended a long term relationship. I live in a small city, and while I have marvelous friends (some of whom had to help me put the photos on) I haven't had much opportunity to meet new people. Want to meet for a coffee?
