Date a soulmate from British Columbia, Canada. Recently a voodoo witch in New Orleans told me that this year I'd meet the man of my dreams. He'd be successful and happy, and be the kind I'd want to keep around for awhile. She also likened my looks to Vivien Leigh (I'll take that, thanks!) and said I'd do very well in my career. Maybe she was just telling me what I wanted to hear, but I'm going to go with it. There's nothing wrong with dreaming big.
A bit about me: I live in Sechelt because my job is awesome (I'm a veterinarian) and I never have to deal with traffic. I work 4 day weeks and head to Vancouver for my days off, weather and social events pending. I could possibly be the biggest nerd you've ever met, but apparently don't look like it on first impression. I just bought a house of my own in the 'burbs, and going through buying it was maybe even as stressful as getting through medical school, but I managed both. I love to walk and hike - I'd sooner walk than drive or take a cab. I drive a prius but take the bus to be a bit nicer to this planet that allows me to live on it. Recycling is important to me, and it should be to everyone. I'm allergic to chocolate. I come from a very musical family and love art and music. By then end of my life I'll have traveled around the world (also predicted by the voodoo witch). I run and do yoga regularly. My dream trip involves doing yoga on the beach in India. I'm also determined to learn how to surf in Bali. I lived in Saskatchewan for 7 years and I'm NOT moving back but some of my best friends live there. The baby I'm holding in one of my photos is not mine. He's my nephew. I get to play with him then give him back to my brother. My favourite flavour is cinnamon, I love live music, and getting cozy outside under the stars is a great way to woo me. And ya, I'm one of those girls who loves shoes and sundresses.
For my future suitors: I have a dowry (it cracks me up that families still do that). It's very important to me that you are active and can keep up with me, even better if I have to work to keep up with you. I'd really like someone who wants to travel with me. It's a very good thing if you're taller than me because sometimes I like to get dressed up and go out in my high heels. There's a very good chance I'll move if I find the right person and the right place but until then, I live 4/7 of my time in Sechelt and I need someone who's not afraid to get on a boat for 40 minutes. It's kind of a deal breaker if you don't like animals (I don't have any but work with them every day at work).

Meet someone special from British Columbia, Canada. I am not used to talking about about myself and it is difficult to give an impression or who you are in a few words but I am always up for a challenge so here it goes....
My friends say that I am a fun, relaxed, thoughtful, strong, open-minded and understanding person. I have a good sense of humor and I love to smile and laugh. I am the first person friends and family come to when they need someone to listen. I have been told that I have a way of making people feel better and believe in themselves. I am known as being patient, lovable and sweet but I stand up for what I believe in and am not afraid to speak my mind when I have to. I am a strong believer in karma and in the fact that things have a way of working themselves out even if it's not exactly what you had in mind!
I have faced a lot of challenges in my life so far and they have left me with a strong understanding of who I am, what I believe in and a confidence in myself that a lot of people are unfamiliar with. I know that there is nothing that I can not accomplish if I put my mind to it and I believe that one step at a time, no matter how slow, will always get you to where you want to be!
I love getting outside for soccer, snowshoeing and skiing, in the winter. In the summer I play slo-pitch, camp and hike as much as I can. I try and stay as active as possible. Recently I have started running and am surprised at how much I enjoy it, on sunny days I try to get in a run as often as I can. It is amazing how fast an hour can pass when it is just me, my music and a long road or trail ahead!!
I have traveled a little bit in the past and it is something that I would really like to do more of. I am fascinated by new places and love experiencing new cultures!
I have an insatiable curiosity about life in general and love to learn pretty much anything! I read when I have time, everything from fiction books to cookbooks to articles on quantum mechanics! I am interested in pretty much anything so if I seem interested in what you do for a living or some obscure hobby of yours, I probably genuinely am!!! : )
As far as dating goes, I like going out but I also like staying in and just relaxing or snuggling on the couch. Watching a movie or hockey game is right up there on my list of favorite things to do!! I like getting dressed up to go out but don't expect me to be the kind of girl who spends hours agonizing about her appearance, I don't like spending more than 15 or 20 minutes getting ready!
The kind of person I am looking for is a guy who is not afraid to take the first step. I spend so much time making decisions, and helping people at work that it is nice to just relax and have someone else call the shots once in a while. Decisions like where we are going for a date or what we will have for dinner....I like surprises!
As far as relationships go, I am not the kind of person who rushes into things friendship is an important first step. It takes me a while to get serious in a relationship but when I do, I want it all.... someone I can trust, with a good sense of humor and positive outlook on life. He has to be comfortable with himself, kind and non-judgmental. Someone who loves kids because they are a big part of my life and career. But most importantly I want a best friend, someone who I can laugh with, someone that I can trust and be myself around. Someone who I can't wait to come home to and snuggle up with after we have both had a long day at work and just enjoy being with each other.
