I am a hardworking, dedicated single mother of three kids aged 17, 13 and 10. I work some weird shifts, but am compensated very nicely for that and do have the days off to be with someone. I enjoy camping, boating, road trips, travelling, dining out and just trying out new stuff. I love relaxing in my jeans or my lulu's but have no problems cleaning up for a night out on the town. I do have a few dresses and high heels I would love to wear more often. My favorite music right now is more leaning towards the electro type of stuff, but I do listen to everything. I think I am just into the electro because it is so upbeat, and with winter being upon us now, the weather sure isn't helping with keeping me feeling like my regular, crazy self! My favorite TV shows right now would have to be American Horror Story and Sons of Anarchy...but typically I am watching either Discovery, History or the Food Network. I love to travel...I can usually be found in hot places where conversations are more likely to happen. My friends have said that I am a determined and strong woman and that the big things that scare most people I've taken in stride with grace, maturity and courage. They also have said that they appreciate my smile because they know its sincere. I think they should put the bottle down ;o)
Now comes the hard part...what am I looking for in a potential partner. As for most of us, by the time we get to this age, we have been burned a time or two and start to doubt ever finding our soul mate. I beleive that every person has multiple soul mates for the different stages of their life. I am now at the stage where I want to start building the rest of my life with that one special someone. That man will be sincere, willing to communicate, extremely loyal, trustworthy and compassionate. He will want to, not only, stimulate my body, but my mind as well. If he is not happy with something, he will tell me (and vice versa) without having to resort to a screaming match. I don't like to argue and fight, but will if I feel like I have too.In the heat of most arguments, things are said that can never be taken away, regardless of their truth or not...so that is why I really dislike fighting. You will enjoy spending time together, be it at home or outdoors...watching a movie, snuggling on the couch with a glass of our favorite bevvie or grabbing a bite to eat at the new restaurant our friends have talked so much about. I do try to make sure my man knows how much I care and appeciate him, so obviously I would want the same in return. Its the little things that matter the most.

I'm a trasplanted Kootenay girl, having lived on the Island now for nearly 12 years. I love the ocean and all it has to offer: fishing, beachcombing, tide pools, storm watching. You name it.
Having lived most of my life in small towns, I consider myself a country girl whose not afraid of a little dirt, and animals are always around. I value others who can see that it's often the small things in life that bring the most joy, and it's not all about having nice things and a great RRSP.
My work as a a nurse has provided me with exposure to all the good and bad that life has to offer and the amazing resiliance people possess. I'd like to think I have become a stronger person as a result of getting through my own struggles as much as witnessing the challenges of others. Let's face it, no one said life was EASY! But, no one said it all had to be work and no play either, so I'm ready for a bit of the play!
Just about anything that takes me outdoors is great with me, but I must admit getting into the city and experiencing all it had to offer is wonderful as well. I consider my "clubbing" days to be over, but under the right circumstances I've found myself with friends at the after hours club!
I'd love to meet someone who just wants to get out of the rut of daily life and explore the things we love to do and maybe experience some new stuff too.

Seriously though, I am currently separated and taking steps towards a divorce and because of that I am using this site more to see what's out there and what to be ready for when the time is right.
Until I am divorced I am not comfortable with showing my picture or meeting anyone with a serious relationship in mind.
I am totally into developing a friend relationship perhaps as workout buddies, dog walking, etc. I am going to get back into running and although I enjoy the company of my dog she really has no interest in striking up a conversation during the workout.
