Meet a soulmate from Canada. With the world's quietest fanfare, I would like to announce that I am looking to get to know somebody. That sounds all wrong, but let's go with it for now. I'm originally from the UK/Nigeria, but I lived a couple of years in New Mexico before moving out here for university. I am an honest, curious individual at heart. I really love delving into what makes someone tick: unpacking what drives them to do the things they do everyday, understanding what their hopes and desires are, knowing what their favourite kind of cereal is...(Cereal is important!) Being a loving, ethical person is chief on my list of things to strive for, and I believe that a big part of that is opening myself up to another. I would like to be with someone that is politically and socially engaged. Activism is a big part of my identity, specifically in issues of race and LGBTQ discrimination. Vulnerability is a key asset in someone I would want to be with for any period of time as is honesty. A willingness to get into night-long discussions on anything and everything is another.
I'm a music fanatic. I play guitar, bass and I sing in a band (The band is a kind of revolving-door format, so we have no set style, but I write songs that are at once based in indie rock, folk, soul, a smidgeon of hip-hop and, according to a friend of mine, bossa nova. Go figure). It is one of the biggest, most prevalent parts of my life, and I would love the person that I meet to share that with me. If you can quote any A Tribe Called Quest, Fleet Foxes, Radiohead or City and Colour lyrics to me, then you're in. If you can play music with me, on whatever instrument, I would love that also. I adore cinema and literature. David Foster Wallace, Zadie Smith and Haruki Murakami are all cornerstones of my personal literary canon, while any film by Michel Gondry or Christopher Nolan is guaranteed to make me happy.
I have no physical characteristics that I am partial to in particular. What is the body if not a vessel for the soul, right? My ideal date is going to an open-mic or cafe, playing some music, grabbing some coffee and then going on a wander round the city while having a nice chat.
More than anything else, I just want to meet someone who is authentic, even if they hate most of my interests. Let's share!

I'm always on the go. My days off I am definitely on the run. Trying to bike as far as I can in two days, hiking berg lake at mt robson, surfing tofino, going to seattle for clam chowder and baseball or just taking it easy skiing and playing on the local trails.
The way I see it, I got three options when I wake up the morning; Get better, stay the same, get worse. I strive to be better. The only thing that isn't getting better are my home made burgers, they've reached a pinnacle in mine and many others opinions. Fitness plays a key role in my lifestyle. I'm an avid biker and runner and do both competitively. From 5kms to marathons, from the road to in the dirt up mountains.
Being a sub-contractor and working on my own, I work hard, plenty and all across BC and Alberta. Work helps feed my traveling problem. I've managed to survive 3 backpacking trips of Europe, two of Central America and countless other jaunts. Not sure where the next plane ride will land, time will tell.
Looking for company with a sense of humor, has something moderately interesting to say and can survive a weekend of camping/hiking. If you can make a fire, thats hot. No pun intended.
