Date men and women from Canada / British Columbia / Squamish, 40 year old

Date a soulmate from British Columbia, Canada. I love outdoor activities and staying fit. I have a natural cardio inclination (cycling, xc skiing) but have recently started working out in the gym too and I really like it. I will always choose something outside in nature if possible though. I've recently started kiteboarding. It feels great to start a new sport and feel the frustration and rewards that come with learning a new skill. I cook a lot. I get very excited by making a great meal for others. Healthy delicious food is important to me.
I am good with people and can naturally relate to people of diverse backgrounds. I grew up in a small town and still appreciate the sense of community that comes from rural living. One of my best friends is an fisherman on a remote island and I love spending time out on the water with him. I am less inclined to city life but do like all the great restaurants and night life. I enjoy getting dressed up and going out occasionally; I polish up really well. I am more at home though dressed in jeans, an old sweater, rubber boots and working in my garden. I will grow perfect organic tomatoes some day!
I don't watch a lot of TV but prefer reading or movies. I like to think and challenge myself intellectually. I am usually attracted to brainy people. I read the NYtimes, the Economist and love spy novels. I used to read 'real literature' but have largely given up my youthful liberal idealism. I'm more into non-fiction recently.
I have traveled a lot. At the age of 19 I hitch-hiked across North America. I have also been to Europe, Asia, and Central America. In the future I think my travels will be focused on experiencing nature, warm water and great food. I don't think I can slum it any more.
I'm a doctor and I love my job. I have a lot of flexibility with my work so I get to play and travel a lot. I am a very lucky guy. I would love to meet someone smart and athletic, brainy and sexy. Pics coming soon.

So its time to mix and mingle into the world of online dating.
I've been here before, with some success, but obviously, not fully successful.
About me:
I have a job.
I have my own vehicle.
I ride a motorcycle.
If I can't find anyone to go on a trip with, I will go on my own. Why wait?
I am comfortable going to a movie or dinner by myself. (but it is nicer to have someone to go with)
I've just moved back to the Vancouver area after a 8 year absence and am happy to be back.
I don't have any kids (unless you count the four legged kind) but its totally all right if you do. I don't plan to have any of my own. So if you're on the fence or you know you want kids, its best you move onto the next profile.
I have a pretty dark sense of humor most of the time, but I appreciate the lighter stuff too.
I love 'The Office' (British version) and 'Extras'... a lot of British humor actually, but stuff like Jackass doesn't make me laugh. There is good 'painful' comedy and then there is comedy I just find painful. Like Jackass or Full House.
I am a borderline movie buff...everything from drama to thrillers, foreign to comedy, and the occasional documentary, if its a subject that catches my attention.
Some of the movies that make my All Time Favorite list include: Goodfellas, Being There, Amadeus, Withnail and I, Fargo, just to name a few.
I'm not huge into cooking, but I do get inspired once in a while.
I much prefer the consumption of food rather than the preparation of it.
I don't exercise as much as I should, but am slowly getting back into a routine (walking trails, going to yoga).
I like hockey and I am a Vancouver Canucks fan. (Always have been, always will be)
I don't really follow any other sports teams, but I do tend to watch other sports during the play-offs (such as football or baseball).
And that is just a little bit about me...
