Date men and women from Canada / British Columbia / Vancouver, 68 year old

Date a soulmate from British Columbia, Canada. I love to laugh and be spontaneous and hope to find someone who feels/is the same.
I'm a bit of a comic, if I can't make you laugh, you're not conscience, but I also have a
very appropriate serious side.
These attributes have always been beneficial assets in my work and relationships.
Philosophical Zen is a big part of my life.
Karma, ethics and self-enlightenment/awareness
are at the core of my personal being and I would
be very pleased to be matched with a like minded personality.
I'm non-judgemental and I feel no need to be in the "right."
My biggest laughs are at myself.
I like repartee. It lubes the brain like crosswords and puzzles.
In others I respect quick wits, intelect and high self-esteem.
I'm very young of heart, mind and body and free from the ego of inexperianced youth.
or stubborn adult intransigence.
I'm also self-reliant and independent. I don't need a nurse, a cook, a maid or a mother.
A wonderful loving companion will do nicely. That's also what I will be in return.
I'm a hopelessly romantic and sentimental about many things.
I know how to share, communicate and participate in all of my
realtionships, personal or professional.
If you are interested in this fireball/mellow fellow, please contact
me soon.
Time is precious and unrecoverable.

Meet people from British Columbia, Canada. Relaxed and informal. Looking for someone who is intelligent, socially aware and who desires friendship, companionship and home life. An interest in politics, movies and other cultures a definite asset . Many photos are from fall 2011. I recently relocated to Vancouver to assume a senior administrative position. I am adventurous, compassionate, empathetic and respectfull of all sojourners.
I am deeply grateful for the abundant life proferred in this most beautiful of cities.
Surely the Creator was impassioned with bold brush strokes on this palette of colors and contrasts we are fortunate to share. A person similarly enthusiastic and emboldened with passion and adventure would be most appealing. A commitment to life long education and growth would add to the intrigue.

Date men and women from British Columbia, Canada. Description: Thoughtful (scientific, political bent); caring (people, environment, social justice); creative (I live outside the box); humorous (it's easy to make people laugh from outside the box); respectful and friendly (not afraid of anyone); smart (strategic thinker, good with ideas and people; less good with things mechanical); energetic; physically fit; vegetarian; love the outdoors (mountains, snow, water, forests, clouds, sky, flowers, salamanders).
Makes me smile: Adopted grandkids; Mozart piano concertos; great latin guitar or chorinho by Jacobo do Bandolim; blue sky day; Jon Stewart; finishing an aerobic workout; many people I meet.
Accomplishments: Original work in preventive medicine; my environmental/political contributions; helping people by being a good listener and helping them to connect the dots; playing in street samba band (no longer); learning to dance salsa and my own version of samba; getting people to feel good about themselves
I am grateful for: The education and experiences I've had, my health and fitness, my family relationships, especially kids and grandkids, opportunities to contribute to the community. I am especially thankful for the music which moves me on the deepest levels. I am privileged to live in Vancouver, a splendid place with good people from all over; grateful for the creative challenges I now have before me.
Person I am hoping to attract: A person who is deeply beautiful inside and out, who cares about people, her family, and the environment, for whom social justice is of paramount importance, who seriously indulges in health, creativity, and adventure. And who laughs easily.
Social life: Though I connect with people easily, I now spend much time alone by choice. I see people at Quaker meeting which I attend many, but not all, Sundays. I also connect to a few environmental and political causes and the people who support them.
LOL: Good jokes not made at others' expense. Grandchildren's (ages 7 & 11) new views of world.
Looking for in relationship: wit, musicality, sensuality, humour, physical presence, caring about the world and its people, a woman with her own creativity, self-acceptance and thus acceptance of me.
Most passionate about: Making a difference for people (social justice) and for the planet (environmental justice); my grandkids; music; the beauty of nature, the tenderness that a woman and man can share, the challenges of being alive on this earth.

With segues in the aerospace, astronomy and information technology business to name a few. I am now semi-retired with my own IT consulting business. Which keeps my mind active. I enjoy travel, photography, movies, computers (music, video). I am a big fan of jazz (mainly smooth), brazillian (samba etc). I will refrain from providing a menu of requirements here for a partner.

Date a soulmate from Vancouver, Canada. artistic, bohemian lover of life, painting and exhibiting my work in europe, where I live six months in a year, love Vancouver for its natural beauty, love europe for its culture, history and social life

Meet someone special from Vancouver, Canada. Let's talk about this over a beverage and quiet area. If I tell you everything here then there may not be much left to say. I would like it to be spontaneous and from the heart. I'm sort of a neat freak and most everything has a place for it. Looking for a trophy "bride" knowing darn well I will never find her. Asian ladies are very high on my list of priorities and if they have long black hair , even a bigger bonus.

Date single man from Vancouver, Canada. I was born in the UK, but after finishing my engineering degree I set off around the world, got to the West coast of Canada and fell in love with Vancouver; been here ever since.
I spent my working life as an Engineer, and in later years as a Project Manager, working not only in the UK and Canada, but in Australia, Indonesia, the Caribbean, the Middle East and quite extensively in Africa.
Since retiring last year I have been working on a project in Haiti. I work with a non-profit Vancouver-based organisation called Builders Without Borders, and we are re-building a trade school for street kids in Port au Prince where they live and learn construction skills; metal & woodwork, plumbing, blockwork, electrical, air conditioning, refrigeration and sewing. The $1.5 million project is being generously funded by members of the Canadian Construction Association.
I am easy-going, a bit reserved (maybe a lot reserved), fun-loving guy who likes to keep active and have been accused of not relaxing enough; I always have some project – usually projects - underway. I love golf, skiing, sailing, hiking, and mountain-biking. I belong to the Community gymnasium on Granville Island and try to get there 2 – 3 times a week.
I have a cabin at Mount Baker (just outside Glacier, Washington) where I love to spend time for skiing, hiking or just to retreat from town life and relax with a book or video, and hot tub; no TV.
I enjoy good reading and unashamedly ask women friends in book clubs for recommendations; guys don’t do book clubs apparently! However, I have been a member of a very close men’s group for the past 15 years; we meet twice a month for companionship and to simply discuss our lives.
I enjoy food and cooking, and am semi-vegetarian, having recently started eating fish after struggling to find suitable food on my last project in Africa. I also like eating out with friends; finding new restaurants of all ethnicities. I do also like drinking good wine; I have recently bottled 5 dozen bottles of red wine which I started over a year ago by crushing the grapes; these should be ready for drinking in 2013.
I canoed the Bowron Lakes this summer with five friends – a mixed group - and we intend to do something similar next summer; Broken Islands by kayak? I also intend to sail a yacht to Desolation Sound (I need crew). In February or March I am going on a trip Cambodia and Vietnam where I will no doubt do a lot of photography; a passion of mine.
I have travelled a lot of the world, either through work or pleasure, and want to do more; there are LOTS of places I want to visit. I love Africa, but it can be a harsh continent. I also love Australia, haven’t seen South America, love Europe and the Far East but I still haven’t fully seen my home province of British Columbia; what to do?
My political position is fairly extreme liberal; certainly on the side of the environment, fair and just treatment of all persons – I support “occupy” – and am a strong believer and activist when it comes to volunteering to help those less lucky than I; hence my work in Haiti and with a local Canadian service club, but there are so many other causes!
I am not religious but am interested and actively engaged in a spiritual search for more meaning to my life.
Who am I looking for? I want to find a loving friend and partner who may share my views, but who can teach me her views of life, who enjoys the activities I enjoy, who is equally happy to join me in quieter and relaxed times on the boat, at the cabin, in front of the fire, and who enjoys and laughs with me at the funny side of life. I want someone who will stick up for her principles but be open to discussion of other points of view. I want someone to cover me when I am sad or under pressure. I want someone who can discuss politics in the broadest sense; I feel that our world has the potential to spiral downwards and out of control. I want someone to work with me at protecting against that potential
