I live downtown and love it, even though I have to commute to work. This city is so vibrant and beautiful. I enjoy walking the seawall (ALL of it) and have been an on-again/off-again runner, but my favourite strolls are off-concrete: beach, park, hiking trail.
I like to see a lot of movies. I enjoy my share of mainstream flicks (can't wait to see the new Spiderman) but prefer films with memorable characters, stories, etc. The best movies of the last 6 months that I saw were: The Intouchables (French film), Monsieur Lazhar (French-Canadian film), and Moonlight Kingdom. Even if you think that you don't like foreign films, go see The Intouchables. It was great. There are free outdoor movies in Stanley Park on Tuesdays throughout the summer, did you know? Fun!
I like to read, mostly fiction, and a tendency towards short story collections, also a bit of non-fiction/science. I tend to like books that are well-written, which makes it embarrassing to admit that I just finished reading (and loving) The Hunger Games trilogy. Seriously, I hated loving it. I kept wanting to hate it, hoping I'd get bored and not want to finish it, but it kept taking unexpected twists and I'd actually get angry about its ability to surprise me! I really really wanted to dislike it.
Politics: if you like Stephen Harper then we won't get along! "Let's hate him together!" LOL
Music is something I love. It enhances most activities. I don't like having to say what kind of music I like, mostly because I'm not particularly devoted to genres - almost anything EXCEPT heavy/death metal, trance/house, Chinese classical, NewAge/World.
I enjoy theatre, and will go a dozen times per year or more. (If you're one of those people who thinks that plays are boring, I have two words for you: "Altar Boyz." This hilarious parody of boy-bands will win you over. Returning to Vancouver this summer...)
Trying and learning different things is interesting to me. There aren't many things that I do so often that I'm expert at them - I enjoy variety. The kinds of activities I will enjoy range from watching a hockey game, attending a lecture at the planetarium, winter skating or summer dancing at Robson Square, leaving work early on a Friday to take off for a weekend away.
About you: You're a guy who likes routine, but not being stuck in a rut. You can enjoy indulgence without guilt because you don't overdo it. You speak your mind, and you speak from the heart. You have no complaints about the occasional night of dressing up but are happiest in jeans. I am an active person and like to participate in a wide range of activities. I'm pretty physically fit and get out to exercise several times per week. I prefer to get out and "do" rather than "watch". I also like to do other types of activities like dining out, movies, wine tastings.....I'll pretty much try anything at least once. While I have an active lifestyle, I also really enjoy my downtime too.

I can easily go from hikers and rain gear to a dress and heals in a day. My dog and I enjoy the outdoors together so I can't really be upset with having to be out and about in the rain or sun. I enjoy going to large events whether the opera, a concert, or a football game (honest, I really do like football and I know the difference between a hook and a slant!
