Just a comment about White Rock's proximity to the rest of the lower mainland. Because of the closeness of Hwy. 99 to east part of White Rock, where I live, I can reach most parts of the lower mainland (Richmond, Burnaby, New West, east and south Vancouver, North Van) in 25 - 30 minutes. For Maple Ridge, Coquitlam, West Van, Kitsilano, UBC about 40 - 45 minutes. I'm used to this as my work in the cultural and educational field takes me all over the lower mainland.
If you like music, nature, and weekend trips to beautiful spots around BC, we might enjoy each others company and perhaps be a match.I am a former teacher (of 17 years, 15 of them in Langley) who upon taking early retirement has gone back to my first passion, creating and performing music. However, I still have my foot in the door in the education field as my main group has an educational school show that travels around B.C. It is a Celtic based multicultural group that also delves into Canadian history and music education. Besides that group I play in a swing band that plays for ballroom dancers and I have a group of musicians with a great singer that has released a CD of my original songs in more of a mainstream style. In the spring and fall I am quite busy with landscaping during the weekdays (keeps me in shape and physically fit and allows me to enjoy the outdoors) and in the late summer it's part time but I'm off in the winter traveling. I spent some of my last winter in China but this year I was busy putting the finishing touches on the new CD which just came out at the beginning of February.
