I have two teenage boys that live with me half time, a successful career, a house that I love and hate (I want to fix the plethora of things that break but I don't know how), fond memories of travel to many continents - South America is next!, and treasured friends and family members.

I grew up in Vancouver and really cannot stand rain. Why do I live here? I ask myself that, oh, about 350 days of the year. (I jest; in fairness, it's more like 330 days of the year.) But the days when I can see the mountains, wear open-toed shoes and leave the brolly at home, I feel blessed beyond belief to be here. A ride around the Stanley Park seawall will remind me I live in a ridiculously gorgeous city. I am also blessed with good health (knock wood), great friends, and work in the arts sector. Among other things, I organize cultural events (a.k.a. herding cats) design posters and write promotional materials for a living. And sometimes I get to see shows for free. How good is that?
I don't drive, barely cook and am often confused around electronic devices (such as remote controls). But I can text very, very quickly and will whoop your ass in a game of Scrabble.
I like to make things -- mostly useful household objects, but also art-ish stuff out of twigs, string, wire and other bits.
I watched an ungodly amount of television growing up and can recall the theme songs to more 1960-70s sit-coms than is socially acceptable.
Photos of earth taken from outer space are extremely cool to me. I like maps too. And checklists.

I cannot tell you who or what I am looking for. Truthfully, I am quite deliberately doing my best to move forward through life with open-hearted curiosity, trusting the path and that whatever happens, happens for a reason. If that sounds flakey, so be it, but it's actually a remarkably practical way to live.

Ok, I'll say a bit more. I have lived in Vancouver for 10 years and really haven't had the opportunity to enjoy the city. I do enjoy trying new things and looking to do that with someone. My family, 2 stepsons and a grandson are important to me and like spending time with family.
I think I'm ready to "talk" to other men and this seems to be the way to do it these days.Not interested in picking someone up in the bar but my married girlfriends have their husbands are on the "look out" for some matches for me as well. Trying to be more active and just started jogging/walking, and it's going pretty good. I am far from being athletic but I'm comfortable in my own skin just would like it to fit better. I do have a bit of a sarcastic sense of humor and do enjoy a good laugh. I am a bit shy but once I get to know you it's sometimes hard to get a word in edge wise. I do enjoy a challenging conversation and can agree to disagree Trying this out for a week and see how that goes. Would consider first meeting just that, if there is an interest we can set up a date.
Noticed most of the 45plus guys own a motorcycle and I have to admit I have never been on a bike....thought I should let you know in case that is a deal breaker. LOL
