I work very hard at my profession as a high school English teacher, I have three wonderful kids whom I have raised on my own for the past 8 years, am blessed with a great extended family, and generally feel very positive about life. I am poignantly aware that life goes by so quickly, and I want to live it fully. I love learning new things and am generally quite curious. I have been divorced for 8 years but really have not dated much because I have always felt that my kids needed my presence. Now that they are 18, 20, and 21, I feel that it is time for me to take some time. I guess I may be considered somewhat old-fashioned as I am not interested in one-night-stands, and I believe that mutual respect is essential in a relationship. I work in a very creative environment as I also direct school plays, and that is a very big part of who I am. I am a very open individual and I am confident that without honest dialogue, a relationship cannot thrive.

I am no Diva and do not expect anyone to cater to my whims; I am independent and self-sufficient but I seek a mutual interdependence. I am not afraid to get my hands dirty and I would not have survived as a Single Mom if I were! I do not want to become someone's "project" and I have no desire to change anybody else. I enjoy spending time on the beach. I live on waterfront property with a beach right in front of me. Kayaking, swimming, lying in the sun are activities I enjoy on the beach. I also love campfires on the beach. I love sitting around the fire with the night sky alive with stars!! It is a wonderful place to live and I am so grateful to be living here in this peaceful setting with quiet surroundings. Yet, I am only 20 km from work and I have a divided highway to get me there!
