Date men from Canada / Nova Scotia / Bridgewater, 56 year old

Date someone special from Nova Scotia, Canada. I am currently not a subscriber, but I hope to be again soon. I was born in Newfoundland, but I've lived in Halifax/Dartmouth for 15 years or so, Bridgewater for the past 16, and Vancouver for a year and a half back in 87/88. I'd love to move back to the west coast some day. I've been in a relationship for the past 35 years, but the love has been gone for a long, long time. We stayed together for the sake of the kids, but the kids are grown now and I think I deserve to find some happiness in my life. I'm looking for a soul mate to share the rest of my life with. I'm young at heart, very laid back, and I try not to take life too seriously. My idea of a good time is to spend a quiet evening at home watching a good movie or listening to music, and I'd love to have someone special to share those things with.
Despite my age, I'm a rock'n'roller and will be until the day I die. The world changed for me when I saw The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show. I was 9 at the time:) I've been a collector of music ever since, but I recently sold my LP collection as they were just taking up space and gathering dust. Don't worry, all the essentials have been either purchased on or recorded to CD. I like to play music LOUD, but I don't get as much time to do that as I used to, since I try to be considerate of other people. If I'm home alone though, or in the car, I like to let it RIP!
I'm a jeans (or shorts) and t-shirts kind of guy, but I can do the dress-up thing if I absolutely HAVE to. But I prefer the casual kind of activities where I don't have to, and I'd like a partner who prefers the same. I love NFL football and it's the only sport that I actually watch during the regular season. I also love NBA basketball and NHL hockey, but it's usually limited to a few games during the regular season, turning into an obsession when the playoffs start. I'm a big Boston Bruins and Celtics fans, so needless to say I was absolutely THRILLED when the Bruins won the Stanley Cup in 2011! Too bad I had to wait 39 YEARS for it to happen!!
Bits and Bytes:
I enjoy living by the ocean (I prefer the Pacific, but right now I'm stuck by the Atlantic).
I love movies that make me laugh or cry, or both.
I love music that makes me want to play air guitar (like Mississippi Queen by Mountain).
I know a lot of rock and roll and movie trivia.
I actually LIKE Tom Cruise (Risky Business, Minority Report, Vanilla Sky).
I love Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson in Lost in Translation .
Jack Black is kickass in School of Rock and Orange County.
Little Steven's Underground Garage is the most fun you can have with a radio.
Nicolas Cage should have won the Oscar for Adaptation.
Ben Kingsley should have won the Oscar for Sexy Beast.
Nick Nolte should have won the Oscar for Affliction (don't get me started on this topic).
I hate the baggy uniforms in baseball now (whose idea was THAT?).
The fake snow in movies is really irritating.
The Coen Brothers' script for The Big Lebowski is a work of genius.
Shopping at Frenchy's is fun AND it saves you money!
I want ZZ Top to play at my funeral and Ry Cooder to give my eulogy:)
