I guess upon further reflection, that's probably as good a description as any. Life is a precious thing. It's too short and fleeting to not try to bring happiness to those you care for. If there is a woman in my life who I truly care for, and I have the ability, there is very little I would not do to to bring genuine happiness to her. A real smile, true appreciation, genuine joy are far more rewarding than the material. It requires patience, sacrifice, and the ability to swallow your own ego somewhat, but the love of a good woman is far more meaningful than that. There are times in life when it can mean everything,
I am a low-key person, independent, the true "strong, silent type'. (Though with the right person, I open up like a book) In keeping with my personality, I don't really frequent bars, or nightclubs, but prefer a few drinks on a patio, or coffee and a good conversation. Dining out can be fun, and I really enjoy Thai and Caribbean food, but I really enjoy dining in, and cooking for a woman. Its just a small thing, but in my experience, it has earned some brownie points.
An ideal partner would be intelligent, funny (I have a some quirky sense of humour, somewhat dry and sarcastic), and who doesn't take herself too seriously. She would be independent-minded, and have a great sense of self-worth.

I moved back to Canada a few years ago after living in Brazil (5 years), Italy/Spain (3 years). Through my travels I learned to speak several languages very well... Portuguese, Italian and Spanish. Yes I'm Italian but my Italian now has a Brazilian accent for some reason... lol
I love going out for dinner or drinks as well as stay home. On weekends, when I stay home, I like to play pool in my basement and unwind with a martini, red wine or schmirnoff ice... :)
