Date a man from Ontario, Canada. I was born and raised in the heart of Ontario's Shipbuilding and
Ski Country, Collingwood, Ontario. Feeling stifled by the confines
of small-town life, I constantly found himself exploring the vast
natural surrounding of the Niagara Escarpment and the shorelines of
Lake Huron and southern Georgian Bay.
After attending Appleby College in Oakville, I attended college, first at Georgian College, Owen Sound where I studied
business management. I then studied architectural design under prof.
John Acres and latter at Centennial College, Toronto. After several
years in the construction industry, I returned to school, this
time at the University of Waterloo, to study architecture and fine art history,
augmenting my core studies with numerous courses at the University of
Western Ontario and York University, all the while continuing to explore the
hills, shores and forests of Ontario. It was during this time
that I first picked up a camera and began to document my explorations.
It was also during this time that my life-long itch to travel took me
further abroad where I discovered the rich diversity of life and cultures
in places like Europe, Africa and The Middle East. After a few years of
globetrotting I returned to Canada to work in the commercial real estate development industry
with my father, and built a web and graphic design company.
Once settled into work, I was able to hone his skills and
gain invaluable experience photographing spectacular products such as photography pottery
and residential real estate and fine art. I have been freelancing since
1999 doing editorial and corporate photography. I continues to explore and build
a library of images from around the Ontario focusing on landscape, wildlife
and portraits that work to capture the often profound relationships
between people and their environments.
I am based in Collingwood, Ontario.
where I also work in my spare time with Paralympic Ontario, Ontario Special Olympics
and the Ontario O-Cup racing series.
I love bringing happiness to others, and I enjoy time with friends and family.
