When I sought advice from friends and family about what to say about myself here, they said that I come across as friendly and approachable. I'm genuinely happy to meet people and enjoy getting to know them. Also, my laughter and smile and the pleasure that I get from having someone make me laugh and also me making others laugh. Intelligent humour (and sometimes just plain silly humour for that matter) can be much more attractive than just a person's physical appearance
My children are getting older (16 & 13) so I have more "me" time now. I love to garden and try new red wines with nice meals. I like to cook with & for someone but I also very much appreciate having a meal made for me. I'm a big Leafs fan (even if it's been 7 years since the playoffs) and my son is a goalie so Saturday HNIC is a ritual in our home. I enjoy home renovation because I love seeing the potential and then making it happen.
I've worked on a political campaign and I volunteer once a week for a senior's organization. It's important for me to get involved. I also want to be an example to my children that doing so can make a difference not only for others but for ourselves.
I love what I do for a living and I've been successful at it. I own my own home in North York and I feel very lucky to have this career & to work with many clients who become friends. I know what it's like to wake up in the morning dreading going to a relatively easy job and I know what it's like to go to bed exhausted afer a long and difficult day but anxious to wake up the next morning to get back at it because you love what you do. I'll chose the latter any day. But I don't live to work!
I'm a fun-loving person who looks for the lighter/sillier side of things...life's too short! I've allowed that part of me into my work and that has made a positive impact on it. Being authentic in all aspects of my life is so much easier.

Having your own children would be nice, too. I think that we parents know the difference between what life is & was like pre/post kids. You're never the same person but in a really wonderful way. Having similar interests would be nice but I'm also open to trying new things.I can be serious when I have to be and I can be fun and funny. I miss asking about how my partners' day went and he asking about mine, going out for dinners and shows or movies and most of all the intimacy that only people in love can share.
Another dating site asked who was the most influential person in my life. I think it's a great question so I'll share my answer. My ex-husband has been the most influential. Because I married him at a young age, I was somewhat inexperienced in the world. He taught me a lot about integrity, responsibility, social skills in business relationships, kindness to others and many other qualities. Unfortunately, the teacher/student relationship may have been the downfall of the marriage. It's been 7 years since we were divorced and he is a wonderful father and happy in his new relationship. I hope that I'll be able to say the same for myself soon.
I eat healthy for the most part and I'm not a big fan of junk food so I don't have too much to worry about. Having said that, I won't order salad and a glass of water if we go out for dinner ;-)
