I work hard as a professional, and when I get home, I look forward to the peace and quiet, so I'm not at all interested in bars, or other loud places. While I enjoy evenings with friends, I'm not comfortable socializing with large groups of strangers. I am steadily employed in a managerial role, and I am not looking for anyone to support me, just a partner to share the joy of having a soul mate.
I'm someone who is very dedicated in a relationship, and has never even considered cheating outside of a relationship. To me, if someone is unhappy, then end the current situation and then look elsewhere. I love to engage with someone of above average intelligence and talk for hours jumping from subject to subject - and learning as well as sharing.
I am always open to trying new things, and just got my motorcycle license two years ago which I am really enjoying.
I lost my partner 3.5 years ago after a short, devastating illness, and finally feel ready to meet someone with who I am compatible.
Above all, I am a gentle, loving person who can not deal with aggression or fighting. I was raised by two loving parents who never fought, to my recollection, and that is the type of relationship I want to find for myself again.
I am very interested in what makes people tick, and am a very loyal and dependable friend. I fall into the Mensa category on the scale, but didn't enjoy participation in their activities. Although I get along with all types of people, I would prefer to meet someone who would challenge me mentally, as well as on many other levels. I am looking for someone who has reached the point in their life where they have learned that material possessions do not bring happiness. I have done a lot of evaluation of myself and come to understand that the most important things I am looking for in a partner is someone who understands the importance of verbal affirmation, quality time and the importance of hugs. I have some strange and unique hobbies, including riding my motorcycle, and breeding and showing dogs. My kids are grown and I am a grandmother. Enjoy country music, quiet times, and nature in general. Usually willing to try new things, although I still can't see the logic in jumping out of a perfectly good plane!
