Date men from Canada / Ontario / Dundas, 57 year old

Date someone special from Canada. “Life is so startling, it scarcely leaves time for anything else!” So observed Emily Dickenson. I love life! What a glorious opportunity – to live!
My friends and family would describe me, above all, as a generous and thoughtful person. I remember birthdays, share my tuna casserole with the elderly neighbours next door and bring flowers to my mom for no reason other than to tell her I love her.
My vocation was a high school English and music teacher. I am passionate about music education! Currently, I have recently completed a Ph.D. in Music Education from U of T. Along with teaching private music lessons here at my home, I volunteer at a Catholic Elementary School in Waterdown where, in the fall of 2009, I initiated a concert band program. This has brought me more joy that I could have imagined! I enjoy being around the elderly and volunteer at St. Joseph’s Villa in my home town. I play the piano and sing for them regularly.
I live in the small town of Dundas where I grew up. I recently purchased a beautiful home on a quiet street. My home backs on to a ravine and, gazing at Nature’s glory here in the early morning, I love to sit outside and meditate. I like to cook and am a good homemaker: dishes, vacuuming and, yes, bathrooms. I keep a very clean home. I'm close to my parents and see them often; this, too, is a wonderful blessing.
I consider myself frugal and, other than a mortgage, have no debts. Still, I don’t hesitate to spend money on a special dinner out, a concert, or renting a plane for an hour to view the fall colours.
Staying in shape is important to me. I want to look attractive to my partner. I exercise every day and my aviation doctor says I'm in better shape than most of his 40-year-old patients. I have a quiet touring bike and I love the freedom of riding it. I have been a private pilot for the past 22 years and enjoy renting a small Cessna - 4-seater - and flying to Toronto Island for a little shopping in the city, or, perhaps to Brantford or Guelph for lunch. I never fly alone; it's just too beautiful not to share. On rainy days, I like to work at making stained glass; this is often for gifts for Christmas and birthdays. I love to read and, frankly, have no patience at all for television. I haven't had tv for years. However, I do love to watch movies and have a large collection. There are also several television series that I own and enjoy. It's just the commercials I can't stand. In short, I am blessed with a truly beautiful life. And I would like to share it with someone. Like flying.
The woman in my life would share that zest for making the most of every breath, every heartbeat - never wasting an opportunity to live and to love. And so the woman to share my life with would be sensual - would like to be in bare feet and, instead of waiting for the storm to be over, would dance in the rain. I would want to share my life with someone who lives, not with expectations, but with an expectant faith, eager for the wonder and surprises that life might send tomorrow. While we would share much in common, we would respect each other's space and not diminish the importance of the other's interests or passions. I consider myself a romantic man who likes candles and bringing flowers home to a soul mate for no reason at all other than to say, "I love you." I would want a woman who would appreciate this. I would want to share my life with someone who, like me, enjoys physical activities like hikes and canoeing or just a stroll under a full moon at midnight. I think it would be wonderful to work out together at a gym or a weight room at home. You would be someone who loves to spend time with my whole family, and would want me to spend time with yours. The most important aspect of a shared life is our spiritual communion with each other and with those around us. I would want to join my partner in volunteering as servants to help bring the peace and justice and joy of Eden just a little bit closer to earth.
