Generally, I'm a fun, active, independent and positive person. I live downtown and I like to bike through the city's various trails, play ultimate frisbee and generally amble around the city. I also really enjoy battling my friends in farming/world domination board games (the presence of other people makes it okay, right?).
In the past three years or so, I've discovered I really like to travel -- especially exploring totally different countries and cultures. The best trips I've been on have been to East Asia and I'd love to go back out that way (despite the rabies letter from Toronto public health that I have as the souvenir of the last trip!).
I don't have a specific picture of who I'm looking to meet in my mind, but if you are smart, kind and enjoy the company of geeks we will probably get along.

Meet a woman from Ontario, Canada. Well hello there...thanks for visiting me! To make the whole "describing myself" process a bit easier I've broke it down into a little list for.....
Ten things about me:
1) I love being around people, though I can be a little bit shy at first.
2) My friends and family are important to me, and I try and spend as much time with them as I can.
3) Originally from the East Coast, but I have lived in Toronto for almost 10 years.
4) I am a total design junkie. I love all things that make a space beautiful. On top of my day job I have a small contract upholstery business where I redesign/reupholster furniture, I write a design and lifestyle blog, and I often attend local design events. I guess you could say design is my passion.
5) I love board games with big groups of people, and while I'm not competitive in most areas of my life, board games are the exception.
6) I love social gatherings of all kinds (see No. 1). Everything from a big soiree to a low-key dinner parties with friends.
7) I love good food and checking out new restaurants in the city. A great meal is one of life's greatest pleasures.
8) I travel as much as I can, and enjoying learning about the cultures of the places I go.
9) I'm active and play volleyball and work our pretty regularly. I'm usually up for trying pretty much anything active.
10) I can't start a puzzle and not finish it.
I'm looking for someone who is smart, funny and has a positive attitude. Someone who knows how to joke around but can be serious when it is needed, and who tries their best to live a balanced life. Attraction/chemistry are important for me. I'm not saying you have to be model material but there has to be a spark...or at least a dull flicker.....for things to work out. I consider myself a woman with depth and inner beauty ..I am finding it quite a challenge to seek this same quality in a man, one that expresses themselves openly and without ego! With me what you see is what you get. I take risks and I challenge myself in business every single day.. It keeps me going. Even though I was born and raised here I find myself eager to escape! Sometimes, I find I don't fit in with Canadian culture or shall I say Toronto culture.. how we communicate with each other is awkward, rarely do I see a stranger smile at me or others, and a lot are afraid of their own shadow. I guess this is my observation, and might not be accurate to say that everyone is like this but most. Far too much materialism is apparent, it influences our behavior.
Others have told me that I am easy to open up to, open minded, honest, sweet,intelligent,intense at times which is accompanied by affection. I'm extremely driven, passionate about my relationships and business.
My best friend often refers I am a "vessel" because I am a great listener and absorb others emotions. I take great pleasure helping others and involve myself in humanitarian groups and projects. I would love to find a man that appreciates a woman's touch and does not have to be taught how to treat a woman. Bonus points for making me smile and laugh, feel appreciated, loved and secure. Romance would be great too! I am a giver by nature and I love making that special someone smile and proud to have me by his side. If you thrive on new adventures, spontaneous, intelligent, fun loving, and a kid at heart we would most likely be a good match. Listening, compromise, open communication... knowing when to be silent and indulge in each others presence I find this quality is over looked and extremely important for a great relationship.
