Date men and women from Canada / Ontario / Erin, 61 year old

Date men and women from Erin, Canada. I'm looking for some body who appreciates fine things, is kind to animals, a sense of humour is required. Life centers around home currently with much work to be done, so this is a priority, but once done, I can relax and entertain. I like fine art, but older not so much modern. My means of expression is working on my interior space here. I believe one's home should be an island of serenity, like the calm and comfort of an English Club with a good shot of romance added in. If you like gardening, then it's wide open, survival of the fittest presently! If you want to see some of what I am about, go to the Queen Elizabeth Place Community and Arts Centre in Oakville and view the Hillyard (Carrie L. Hillyard, 1866-1952, O.S.A. etc.) exhibit of fine art I organized for the Oakville Museum. If you like the AGO you will like this. Currently the things that provide the most joy around here are the two cats Things like traveling to far distant places are just not on the list of the realistic right now, though it makes a difference to be with someone who does and has. Have been to the UK once along time ago. Sports are not a big interest, though that depends again on who one is with. But I would like to see a good (hopefully) movie more often than I do, which has been none for quite a while. I dislike Loud restaurants and bars etc. and am not a very good, well I'm a terrible dancer, I suppose I could be trained! I notice that most of the girls on this site are looking for their special soul mate, to me that's far too much pressure to put on someone. A good time and a new friend are just fine and if it leads further all well and good too. I like to cook and or help, though my kitchen is far from a high end chefs paradise, but I get by. My favorite piece of music is the Lark Ascending by Ralph Vaughn Williams.Holding hands, cuddling are all great as is the proverbial walk on the beach.
But even if you are not interested, go and see the Hillyard Exhibit on untill Oct.7th, you will be glad you did, then I will have added to your life, if even in a small way. I have added some images of a few of the paintings in the exhibit.
An Irish Cautionary Tale ~
A man walked out to the street and caught a taxi just going by.He got into the taxi, and the cabbie said,

“Perfect timing. You're just like "Brian!

”Passenger: “Who?

Cabbie: “Brian Sullivan. He's a guy who did everything right all the time. Like my coming along when you needed a cab; things happen like that to Brian Sullivan, every single time.”

Passenger: “There are always a few clouds over everybody.”

Cabbie: “Not Brian Sullivan. He was a terrific athlete. He could have won the Grand Slam at tennis. He could golf with the pros. He sang like an opera baritone and danced like a Broadway star and you should have heard him play the piano.. He was an amazing guy!”

Passenger: “Sounds like he was something really special.”

Cabbie: “There's more. He had a memory like a computer. He remembered everybody's birthday. He knew all about wine, which foods to order and which fork to eat them with. He could fix anything. Not like me. I change a fuse, and the whole street blacks out. But Brian Sullivan, he could do everything right!”

Passenger: “Wow... Some guy then!”

Cabbie: “He always knew the quickest way to go in traffic and avoid traffic jams. Not like me, I always seem to get stuck in them. But Brian, he never made a mistake, and he really knew how to treat a woman and make her feel good. He would never answer her back even if she was in the wrong; and his clothing was always immaculate, shoes highly polished too. He was the perfect man! He never made a mistake! No one could ever measure up to Brian Sullivan.”

Passenger: “An amazing fellow. How did you meet him?”

Cabbie: “Well, I never actually met Brian. He died. I'm married to his ---- widow.”
