Meet people from Canada. So I this is probably a clich? by now, but I really don’t know what to put here. But it does seem necessary to put something here, so here goes:
To start with, I should say, I’m incredibly shy when it comes to the opposite sex. I don’t really have much faith in the online scene, but since I usually shy away from women in person, this did seem like something worth trying.
I see it said many times, people say “I want to start with being friends”, or something along those lines. I’m a little confused as to what the alternative is? This doesn’t seem like a speed dating sight. You need time to get to know someone before even a friendship develops (at least I would imagine this is the case), let alone anything beyond that. Anyways, I would need to get to know someone before I moved past friends. I do believe you need time to see what you have in common, and if you both actually do like each other. I have never blamed a girl for not liking me, for whatever reason, be it physical or just not what they’re looking for. I don’t think we necessarily control who we end up liking. Anyhow long story short I’m here to meet people, get to know them, and if something more develops then great, if not then that’s alright too.
I think I should also probably put this out there right away. Since I also often see, “I want someone who knows what they want in life”. Well I don’t know what I want in life, or what I want to do. I graduated University with a BA in history, which I really enjoyed. My current job lets me take university courses for free, so I am continuing to take history courses that interest me, just for fun. That aside, I don’t mind my job, I just wouldn’t saying it was my life’s calling. So I guess I’m saying if you are looking for someone who knows exactly what they want to do with life then I can’t meet that requirement. Though I don’t see that as a real obstacle, I did think I should mention it.
As for a bit about me, here goes. I am nerdy or a geek or whatever the correct term is. I like computers, I built mine and I do play and enjoy video games. I didn’t exactly know what to select when I had to pick interests, such as night clubs/dancing and camping. I like going to clubs, but I don’t like to dance (mostly because I can’t). I do like camping, but haven’t been in years, but would be happy to go with the right person. Basically I find it hard to categorize my likes and dislikes, to me that’s something you find out as you get to know someone. I am up for doing new things, in fact I want to try new things, but I also do like relaxing sometimes. No plans, just watching some good TV/Movie or enjoying a video game.

I graduated from university in 2008 and have moved around numerous times since then. A few of my friends did the online dating thing and I thought it might be a nice way to meet someone new. Date someone special from Canada. Hrm, where to start. Well I have a good job, I have my own place, I have a great family, and I have a circle of friends that I wouldn’t trade the world for. The way I see it I have everything I need in life I just need someone to share it with (not to sound too sappy or anything lol). That means that I'm NOT going to play "mind games" because I don't have the time nor the patience for such nonsense.
My friends would best describe me as a very humbling, easy going person that enjoys making people laugh, someone that is very caring and would give everything and never expect anything back in return ...... so in other words I’m the guy they call when they need help moving lol. I look at life from a “cup half full” mentality and know that whatever happens, it happen for a good reason. I LOVE to travel and I make it my goal to set aside cash for a big trip every year. When I’m not going on trips I like to be outside enjoying my summers as much as possible (camping, cottage, beach, patio bar, and so on), winter on the other hand ......ah not so much lol. What can I say I love the warm weather, mind you if I got into skiing or snowboarding then that could quickly change (that being a good example of how easy going I am lol). Though I must say I also enjoy staying in and watching a movie so to me as long as I’m with good company then it doesn’t matter what we do.
For me the three things that make a good relationship last are honestly, happiness, and comfort. Pretty easy keys to a successful relationship yet several people tend to sacrifice one or two of them for the sake of happiness; I am not one of those people. To me I respect honestly on top of all else (regardless on how brutally honest the truth may be. That`s the way I am and I expect the person I`m with to be the same), I live an already happy life so I would want to add to that, and I am comfortable within my own skin so I would expect the person I'm with to feel the same way (about me and about herself).
The person I'm looking for is someone that has a great sense of humour, knows how to hold a conversation, loves to travel and be outdoors, and has a good head on top of her shoulders (and no I don’t mean having a good looking head ........ even though that would probably be something I’ll be looking for as well lol :)). I'm looking for someone that would consider me their "plan A" instead of some "plan B" because if that's the case then don't bother messaging me. Also someone that will actually show some incentive when it comes showing interest in me because if I`m the only one putting in the effort then I would rather put my effort elsewhere, where it`s actually appreciated.

What can I say about me... I’m a guy who likes adventure and am always up for getting out into the world and having a good time. I enjoy lots of active activities like camping, rock climbing and sailing - Ahoy, yeh good sailing reference, right ;) I also appreciate quieter times at home with a good cup of coffee, relaxing to music, playing video games or even just a good nights sleep.
I am pretty easy going. I don’t sweat the small stuff and like to take life as it comes, the good times and the not so good times because in the end everything works out the way it’s supposed to...fate!
Family, friends and community are very important to me. I’m actively involved in the community in many different ways and love being able to give back. One of the things I do is volunteer with a kids program and I find it very rewarding. The kids are great and so much fun! All my friends and family know that if they need anything, I’m there for them. I’m a bit (might be a little understatement) of a techie so I’m often the guy they call for help setting up the new sound system. Or we hit up the patios in the summer to enjoy a drink in the sun.
I don’t have a lot to say when it comes to what I am looking for.
