I'm 49 and recently separated. I have an awesome 12 year old son who mostly lives with his mom. I love aviation and have a pilot's license. I spent years working as a pilot and flight instructor out of various airports in Ontario where I loved flying Cessna 150's or anything else I could get my hands on. These days, however, I work at Pearson International Airport, it's a hectic job and it keeps me pretty busy, but I love it and it keeps me in touch with the aviation industry.
I love to laugh and hang out with friends. Because I grew up in South Africa I do have a bit of an accent, which my friends tease me about all the time.
I am a pretty decent cook having worked as a chef in my early 20's for a number of years at The Keg and other establishments.

OK, here goes....I am a regular guy....I do not start every day running a marathon, I have not climbed Mount Everest twice, my dream is not to throw myself of a bridge with a rubberband around my feet and I do not mind slowing down....also for clarity I do not own a yacht, an airplane or a private island in the tropics.
Instead I go to work every day to be able to pay my bills and to live the lifestyle I have chosen....there is a lot of things I could change and probably should, but so far seen no really good reason to do so.
Life passes to quickly as it is and I want to take the time enjoying it while I can...my way of doing that is to ta time to stop and smell the roses...not that my olfactory facilities are above average I mean more to take the time to notice the colts-foot blooming in the spring on the south facing slopes or to see the double rainbow at the end of the rain. And as much as I want to go to Ecuador I also want go to Antarctica, Island, Yellowstone, the river mouth of the Seguenay river....to a cottage or on a camping trip or to the Bruce peninsula.
So what am I looking for.....to be honest I do not know, I am pretty happy with what I have but I guess......someone to share a conversation or silence with....to share a dream with we both know will never be full filled....to share a meal with.....to cook with or for....to laugh and cry with....to just be together with....to wake up with not from a physical sleep but into a relationship.....

When I do have spare time at home I love to ride my bicycle, swim, putter around the house, hang with friends, go for walks in the forest with my sister and her dog. How can you not smile when walking a dog, they get such great pleasure out of it. In the winter I love snowshoeing, hiking, even a bit of cross country skiing. I do travel a lot for work so when I am home I usually have a lot of catching up to do with my house and friends!
