I try to equalize things as much as possible for the people who cannot do it for themselves (translation: I fight for the underdog) because I like to think that if necessary, someone would come to bat for my mother, my sister, or my children to ensure their happiness and safety. But this is not to say that my reasons are completely altruistic as I take immense pleasure in helping others, so perhaps my motives are a little selfish? Either way, it makes me happy to make others happy and to do my part in helping others.
While I love getting flowers, I am more impressed by random acts of kindness than I am by the most expensive floral bouquet. Of course, I would love to receive a bunch of daisies or carnations picked up on the way home from work when you were going by a street vendor...or even the grocery store would work, too, because either way it would mean you were thinking of me and who would not like that? I would....
I'm looking for a partner who values what I have to say, even if it's boring as sin, and who makes me feel loved, even if I am behaving foolishly at that point, and he must have some of the same values I have so that we can understand one another.
