I love my family and lost two immediate within 9 months so am totally sharing time with the two that I have left. My daughter's and two grandchildren are the loves of my life.
I play a few instruments, altho I enjoy playing harmonica most. It was my Dad's that I began to play after he passed away....he always asked me to learn and I would tell him nope and then I did the year he passed and now I am damn good at it. I play guitar,some banjo,some piano and spoons or a piece of paper and a comb too.lol
I am a writer of short stories and a poet(had one published) and most of my work is from life experiences. It is a poetic diary in essence. I had been offered to publish the book of poems,but had a fear of not being able to sell enough on consignment within the 3 month period of repaying the publisher,so I dropped the ball. Now I can afford to do it but, I will add my artwork to the book this time and then go to an editor and publisher.
My life has been a roller coaster of sad and happy times, but laughter is the way our family has dealt with everything,especially because of having a sick sister since she was 17 until her death at 48. I was a care giver for a home out in Alberta and then became a proprietor myself caring for three disabled women in my home.It was a fulfilling job and I'd had alot of experience having cared for my sis all those years. I moved back home to ONtario to be with my family after two devastating losses back to back in 9 months.....actually we lost 5 in 18 months if you want to count family and friends.3 family 2 friends.
I am a sentimental old fool I guess, I believe men should be gentlemen and women are the caregivers. I was brought up with a strict Mom cause my Dad worked out and away on the highways(his crew built the first highways threw Toronto to SSMarie) We got transfered to Dryden then Kenora so my Mom had 3 lil kids to care for on her own and Dad was home on wknds. Mom sewed and babysat til we were older and then she went out to work. My parents were best friends.....the day we waited to get word my sister was gone was Mother's Day 2006 and my Dad gave Mom a card and at first she thought it was a mistake because it was not a Mother's Day card....when she read inside she saw it was a best friend card and together they have/had weathered so many storms and 53 yrs married. Thats all I ever wanted in life, only I have yet to have this. I am a giver not a taker and sometimes to a fault because I will do for others and go without.
My daughter's and grandkids are my world of peace, I adore them and I miss having them around me all the time and I miss the good night Mom, Love ya, See ya in the morning....they grow up too fast. One is 26 and the other is 30. Kinda makes me feel old, yet its truly amazing to see them grow and go into my new phase of life as a grammy.
Picking up the pieces,and starting new again,my life is like a picture ,in an old wooden frame. All the scars and notches,are seen around the edge,there lays inside a new picture with dust around it's ledge.You can change the character,but the story stays the same,there lays inside a new picture, still in that same old frame, Someone once had purchased me then tossed me far aside.....they only looked at my edges and not at what was deep inside......
