Fortunately, my day job is very stimulating - and even inspiring - or depressing !!- but it's never dull. I am the richer for it.
While I am from Ottawa, I lived in the UK for a long time which I enjoyed hugely but it was also a great launchpad to see many wonderful places...
Angkor Wat is still a big 'wow' even now, any Hong Kong market, inspiring people (Cambodian children) and great aromatic food ie Thai which I have only begun trying to get right in the kitchen. Scotland - just love the attitude...
The Croatian coastline was a revelation... couldn't get enough of Sicily... Never been to Australia, New Zealand, the Arctic, those really tiny islands no one has ever heard of Cuba or Glacier National Park ... but there's still time! I love to travel - and it would be great to meet a fellow traveller - or at least someone who dreams about it!
However, I am getting a kick now out of discovering Deep River or Petawawa or Kingston or Almonte or Montreal, Montreal and more Montreal -- and Ottawa is just really comfortable, the people are great. Everything is here on the doorstep - pubs, Vietnamese restaurants and smoothie joints or all of that green ie Gatineaus right across the way and being close to the water at most turns. I enjoy my bike - but am not one for winter cycling - look forward to a spin on the canal when the weather co-operates -- it's just another way of seeing and experiencing the city
We are all different but an appreciation (at least) of music and humour are essential. Laughing is a great antidote to most situations - and is just a great state to be in. And if a joke, something hilarious, or a witty turn of phrase can be shared -- all the better! Music soothes the soul or gets you moving!
I also like to spend time with family and friends either chilling out over a drink, dinner - or exploring (again)... or ... trying out different recipes when I get the time...
I also love to lose myself in a great film - an absorbing tale or laugh-myself-silly comedy.
I value thoughtfulness - who doesn't - and am usually up for most things including learning how to sail in Spanish without understanding the language. Not sure about bungee-jumping -- although it did help my friend straighten her back problem out :)
