Meet a man from Owen Sound, Canada. Why do so many people say they're "fun loving" in their profile? Seriously, doesn't everyone like to have fun? As an oxygen-breathing bipedal hominid, I'm much more unique than the others.
Writing an online dating profile ranks among the great challenges in life. I'm supposed to convice you that I have no serious communicable diseases, relatively few illegitimate children and that most of my nourishment is not derived from cat food. Yikes. And despite my best efforts, you'll probably just look at the picture. I'm in trouble!
At the risk of you thinking that I can’t be serious, here’s an attempt:
I live by the simple philosophy that you create the life you want, accomplished through passion and focus. Travel and outdoor activity inspire me. After many years caught in the rat race, I figured out that material 'stuff' contributes little to quality of life. If anything, it's counter productive.
Having said this, I smile graciously when someone shows up with a bottle of cheap homemade wine, but I wouldn’t be caught dead drinking it (a fine Malbec is another story). I enjoy harassing telemarketers. I’m the first person at a party to get naked and belly flop off the roof into the pool. I believe Darwin was onto something and religion missed the boat.
Regarding employment, no doubt you want some assurance that I won't try to steal your savings. I have a cool business as a freelance outdoor photographer and writer. And I work in the conservation field helping to save a small part of the planet. Best way to make money, by far, until someone pays me to be a wine taster.
Right now, I'd rather be on a kayak trip - camped out on the granite shore of a lake than writing this profile.
