Meet someone special from Richmond Hill, Canada. There are two types of people when you get down to it : I call them "3 G" people and "2 G" people. The 3 G's are all about themselves... "Gimme, gimme, gimme" They can come in all shapes and sizes and they usually hide the fact they're 3 G very well, at least at first, but then their true colors come out. The 2 G's are about something totally different. They're about 'What can I "Give" and what am I "Grateful" for.'
I read / heard that somewhere, sometime ago and it really struck me that you really can label / narrow down people into those two camps. Ever since, I've endeavored to try to be a 2 G person, and it's brought on moderate to great results. You must be one as well (or at least are trying to be, kind of like me), or don't waste my time and I won't waste yours
I'm kind of sick and tired of the whole charade sometimes and just want to know if there are genuine / sincere people out there that share my interests and are also sick of the whole game as well. I've been there, done that sort of thing and that's why I'm trying this out, to see if the "power" of the internet can yield better results than I can, left to my own devices.
We must start with great conversations and then take it from there, but the sharing of ideas and the getting to know each other stage is crucial to a long lasting / meaningful relationship, and isn't that what all of us want out of life, out of this site anyway?
I'm passionate about my love of my dog / my family and genuineness (is that a word?) and most of all, faithfulness / honesty, because without that, what's the point? Oh, I almost forgot, cooking / music and movies are some of my other passions.

Ok, so I've read some of the thoughtful profiles on here that demonstrate peoples' awesome personalities, and it's inspired me to put a little thought and time into mine. Hopefully it will give you some insight into who I am and perhaps even inspire you to drop me a line.
I have a co-worker who suggested that I claim I'm a writer. Why, you ask? Apparently because I write eloquent emails or something. This led to a fun argument about how it was disingenuous to claim that, because it's simply not true. In reality, I work in IT. But please don't pigeon-hole me as simply a geek, because I'm much more than that.
I have a variety of interests, which I think bear describing:
Sports -- I am an avid runner (treadmill over outdoors, to save my knees) and intend to run the Sporting Life 10k in the spring, with hopes of graduating to a half or full marathon. I also love team sports. I play softball in the summer on a team (last year's Thornhill Slopitch champs, thank you very much), and indoor soccer in the winter (this year's last place team :(), as well as recreational golf, volleyball, tennis, and whatever else somebody wants to play. I also recently completed P90X (mostly as a challenge to myself)
Food -- Unfortunately (for my figure), I love food.. whether it be fine dining, or hipster chic (I'm not hipster, but Burger's Priest is pretty yummy), I'm up for anything. I'd love to find a food buddy.
Parentheses -- (you may have already noticed this.)
Movies -- Film, movies, call it what you will. I let my friends buy the TIFF memberships and mooch off of them. (Actually I'm quite generous, aside from the fact that I will take advantage of half price tickets.) I usually take a week off to watch movies during the festival which seems gratuitous, and every year I say I'll stop, but it's like the CNE.. it's tradition now. Some of the movies/directors that I love include Jeunet, Almodovar, Herzog, Jarmusch (Ghost Dog/Down by Law), A Serbian Movie (well maybe not), Evil Dead, Rounders, Shawshank Redemption, etc.
Games -- I love trivia, Scrabble, and as of late (here comes the geek), have fallen for german-style board games like Settlers of Catan. I love to compete in a healthy manner.
Music -- I'm not going to name names really except to say that Kyuss is probably my favourite band of all time and if you've heard of Kyuss we'll probably get along. Live music inspires me, but I don't get out to see enough.
Beer -- I love trying obscure craft breweries, but have a deep affection for Belgian Trappist ales. I live close by to pretty much the best beer pub in Toronto. But despite this I'm not an alcoholic!
Travel -- This is a new one for me but one that I'm looking to explore more deeply in the coming years.
I'm looking for a partner in crime that has relatively similar interests, and that has an open-mind. I find independent women to be very attractive and would love to find somebody is complementary in many respects.
